Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Chat

Signing back into Ulster on my new phone the other week was torturous. Went to close my account and they told me I had to visit a branch. I’m on a different landmass so had to CASS to escape.

On the contrary, I find the Natwest Group ‘new device’ process to be one of the most frictionless - it’s been a while now since I’ve done it but I’ve never had an issue getting in. Inputting an arbitrary length passkey after setting it for the first time is a pretty sensible thing to do IMHO.

No providing ID, no need to handshake from a previously set up device, no separate card reader + PIN, no waiting for codes in the post…

Using a generated password is probably the wrong approach with any provider who asks for certain characters as part of a log in process. Better to use an actual briefly memorable one (even if you have your password manager remember it).

Ah I see. Yes that must be what they’re getting at. Odd though.

App and online banking down.

Right?

Starling has a single product, therefore no means comparable.

They have hardly touched it in 10 years so no wonder it’s stable af :joy:

I agree, the two still aren’t comparable as RBS has multiple products and one could simply impact the whole lot.

Starling has one product.

Can anyone see if the NatWest app is also down.

It is for Ulster.

Down for me aswell, some poor team of engineers probably messed up maintenance overnight and have been up trying to fix it since

Anyone seeing new card designs in wallets yet? I “lost” My RBS CC and it has a new number, it’s showing the new number in Apple Pay but still the old grey design, not the purple. Very strange they haven’t updated it yet.

I “Damaged” both of my RBS Credit Cards months ago and Google Wallet still hasn’t been updated to the new designs. Card number is the same but old ones were granny sheen silver and new designs are purple.

Yeah I still have the granny sheen silver too. Bizarre, the purple ones have been out for some time now.

Maybe need to remove and re-add

Removed and re-added both and they are both the same design in Google Wallet as DMc1 shows above even though with the physical cards one has purple lines and the other has yellow :person_shrugging:
