Was trying to pay someone with an AIB bank account. They commented they couldn’t find the payment as the reference didn’t work as expected, it comes up as something resembling a transaction ID. I’ve checked this with a mates AIB account and the same thing happened, the reference also didn’t work.

I think it’s an AIB thing.
I have the same issue with my local resident’s association payment (coming from Revolut) to their AIB account - I enter a reference in Revolut for the payment but it doesn’t come up on the AIB side.

I have been loosing my mind over this! First it has been bill payments, today it’s life insurance, the common denominator- AIB. Having said that Virgin Media seems to be reviving the reference number ok!
