I would be fine with an one-time charge for “premium” card designs but nothing more than that - if you start splitting account features between different plans then you’re heading into the legacy bank territory and I want none of that.

Seeing as printing custom cards will likely be considerably more expensive than bulk printing neon orange card it seems like the best suggestion I’ve heard. Plus it fits in with the monzo ethos of simplicity and ease of understanding.

This is not an uncommon feature with some European legacy banks. Until early this year I was paying €1 for each transaction, including paying in, with an Italian current account

A choice of three different colors possibly!
Oh I am aware… But clearly this is a result of the NIRP and ZIRP fiat experiment the world is playing in.
My bankers used to have a long list of perks for me… Free airline lounge access, a professional relationship manager, concierge etc… the last few years its very obvious how much less ‘service’ each of those promises is giving.
With some banks abroad introducing negative interest rate for other banks and big businesses rather than personal customers paying someone to hold your money is not unheard of
those things were never offered to free accounts for those on regular incomes, but only to high net worth clients or those paying a fee for their account
Yeah thats HNW banking services… But even those kind of banking relationships, going back decades, are drastically reduced… My relationship manager used to always be available, and have a secretary to handle any banking instruction by phone, now hes barely reachable, always on a callback, and its a team of switchboard operators… My priority pass card was terminated a couple of years ago, etc etc etc… They still have the same assets under management, but all the perks have gone.
Thats a direct result of a low interest rate world. If they can get money from the fed at 0.5% why do they need mine ??
Either colour but I’d like an investor special colour.
It doesn’t need to be a different colour for investors, just print INVESTOR on the card like we did before. Personally I want a hot coral card and would opt for a standard card if they made the investor one a different colour, particularly if it navy or purple like so many other accounts out there.

As much as I like hot coral I wouldn’t mind having some other colours available - crimson red sounds awesome! It would be cool if you can have multiple cards active at the same time - I can see myself having multiple cards and choosing a different one each time to match my outfit.

Still like hot coral!! But I agree the option of some more colours would be ideal. Hot coral isn’t for everyone.

I completely agree with you!
Monzo have to think about different age groups.
The love of hot coral or the wish to have a more muted card that look similar to a legacy bank are not related to age but personal taste.
