Hi guys, I have a few cheques I want putting intoy account. My wife has a cheque too so I was wondering can I deposit my wife’s cheque into my account. We have the same surname.
No. Cheques have to be deposited into an account in the same name. That is what Account Payee written between the crossed cheque markings (vertical lines) means.
Your wife (or you) should pay her cheque into her own account. If you have a joint account, you’ll be able to deposit it into that.
