Obtaining a Monzo card

Oh awesome! So when should we expect our place in the queue to start moving up? I’m still on 15,315…:frowning:

How many people are there in the queue at the moment?

I mean, I’m 15,000th - last time they showed me, there were about 40,000 behind me. I imagine it’s about 60-80,000 in the queue now.

The first thing to say is that the queue is for a Current Account with Debit Card, not a prepaid card.

The second thing to say is that there are mechanisms in the Monzo queueing system for jumping over people by inviting new people onto the queue so maybe this is why the numbers have changed. There is nothing to ‘do’ (unless you want to invite other people, I guess) just wait for the queue to roll down over time.

I applied for Monzo card last week and the number of people ahead of me was 62,000, but now 68,000!
I expected the number would be reduced but increased ! I am new to this card, don’t know what should I do!

Ouch! And so close to being spot on! But I’m guessing that queue will start updating soon then, with the first new customers being offered an account?

Obviously only very roughly but what rate are the new sign ups are being offered? e.g. only a few a day etc

Anyone getting any movement at all in the queue? I haven’t seen any progress yet :confused:

Really? I’ve been updating every day and still on the same figure I was on when I signed up. Is it moving differently for different people then?

Nope! It all moves along gradually. When did you sign up?

I know a load of new people have been onboarded this week as a few of my friends have gone through the process.

I’ve got a feeling the counter on the app isn’t working correctly

That’s frustrating - signed up mid-October. Was 15,315th in the waiting list, and has been like that ever since.

I thought it would move at least a tiny bit now that new customers are being onboarded, but nothing’s changed so far this week.

That would explain it - well, that’s handy.

The reality is that cards are being sent out so the queue is moving. If a bit of software isn’t keeping up, that’s annoying but doesn’t impact the account offering at all.

I’m an existing current account user (previously on pre-paid and upgraded to CA), and I’d like to invite my friend to use Monzo CA too. I’m wondering if the golden ticket is back and whether if it’ possible to bump my friend up the queue yet? :grimacing:
