He edited the image to make a couple more digits hidden.
My concern was basically, the first 11 digits visible on here, anyone who knows him could get a card receipt from his bin and have the last 4 digits. It’s then a maximum of ten attempts before you have the full number!
As others have said, the grey metal card looks more premium and has at least a perception it will last wear and tear better over time. Also agree with one off fee model.
I like the grey metal over the white metal - however I feel like the colour may be too close to the recently unveiled Business Banking Card - at which point I feel like there is a loss of identification throughout the cards.
I’d jump on a black metal or hot coral metal card for a one of fee - as to be pay for Plus (where you can get a new card) to then pay another bumper (to get another card) seems to cancel each other out.
I do agree here, I kind of feel that these colours are not “Monzo”. The hot coral is such a staple for Monzo and I believe it helped to build their brand awareness and company overall.
I would love to see other options including a hot coral metal one.
I had a dark grey matt plastic card with my Nationwide account and although it might be different in weight and strength, from the picture it does look similar to me?
Grey is a very boring colour. My wife has a Santander card in a very similar Grey colour.
Hot Coral is Monzo, the amount of times people see the card and before they even look at it say "Oh is that one of those Monza / Monzig / Monzi " cards
The two aren’t comparable. You don’t show your apple pay or Google pay to friends, family, retailers. I’ve had plenty retailers and friends comment on how distinctive the card is. I’ve never had a retailer comment on my Google pay.
People associate hot coral and Monzo. It just works.
I spotted spotted somebody paying with a hot coral Monzo card out the corner of my eye while at a restaurant. He was waiting for the waiter with it in his hand, and I caught his eye and waggled my Monzo card in his direction and he gave me a thumbs up and a wink. I’d never have clocked his card without the hot coral. It’s powerful brand ID stuff that - which is completely lost with these boring grown up colours for grown ups.
