Monzo Outage 13/08/2024 [Resolved]

Looks like Monzo is having some issues today. My app is running a simplified version and lots of people complaining on X.

My wife had an issue about half an hour ago. Saw this thread, opened my app and voila all gone

That’s actually quite a nice view for them to add. Helps reduce people pressing buttons and trying to do things while they’re fixing the issue but still gives people a quick glance at how their account is doing.

It also has a direct link to support – that’s a rare one!

Yea was a surprise, really cool to see. You can still move money and manage pots so fairly minimal affect on general users.

The degraded Monzo experience is better than many other bank’s apps :slight_smile:

Does appear to have some issues with online payments and receiving faster payments from having a look on X

Haven’t tried a card payment, but a Faster Payments transfer seems to be working for me (just transferred funds in from Starling and it’s showing in the broken app)

You’ll have to pay to use Monzo’s previous features

I thought I hadn’t paid for petrol this morning but the transaction came through an hour later. Must be related.

I wish I could keep this simplified feed as my Monzo app. It would put me off using the app a lot less than the current sensory overload.

This. This is a great accessibility interface. I’m surprised we’re only learning of its existence through showing up due to degradation and not Monzo announcing it as a new accessibility feature.

Reminds me of assistive access on iOS.
