Monzo Investival

Just wondering why the email lists multiple times/dates for ticket sales, for the same event…

Are Monzo planning on rationing them out instead of first come first serve?

I have indeed used the same email (I only have one!).

I also don’t have a link.

Here you go: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/monzo-investival-2019-tickets-62250909145

From my perspective, dreadful timing  . However, I guess it was never going to work for everybody.

I know there are more than a few Monzo investors and staff heading to Glastonbury that weekend.

I did say it might be a silly question but you never know!

I think if you use/ search for the event you’ll still be able to get tickets as your an investor - but I’d contact COps about not getting the emails!

It might be for specific talks/ panels during the day - it looks like overall the whole “summit” is being split into two streams - Business and The Product

If you’ve opted out of marketing emails, you won’t have received this email! But as long as you’re an investor, you can still register for a ticket here tickets will also be available at the following times

Ticket sale dates and times
Tuesday 28th May 6pm
Friday 31st May 8am
Wednesday 5th June 1pm
Thursday 6th June 8pm

The streaming links will be widely shared ahead of time with all Investors ahead of the event so you can watch at home! Every single talk will also be recorded and ready to view pretty sharpish after the event. We thought it might be nice to turn it into a social occasion for investors in other cities.

We’re staggering the release of tickets so that people with different work schedules have a chance to get a ticket at a time best suited for them!

That’s not really the rationale in my argument nor do I believe it is @Ordog’s what we are saying is, yes, okay your HQ is in London fine - but maybe have 1 or 2 events (that aren’t just meet-ups) in other cities across the year. Monzo is much bigger than the “London bubble” it used to be.

But if this is the cost anyway why not take it to other places? I wouldn’t go to the event for a “free bar” I want to go because I want to see what is going on behind the scenes. Take away the free bar and move it to a different city every once in a while and you’ve cut your losses.

So when we don’t like something we are supposed to just take it and get on with it? We’re not demanding events take place elsewhere, just saying it would be nice if they were.

No I am all for events taking place across the country. I am just stating Monzo have clearly stated that this is something they are looking to do in the future and that people should let them get on with their jobs and stop being so sensitive and wait for when they say it’s feasible. I live nowhere near London and have travelled down to these events before, it’s not that big of a deal.

Like I just said, it would be amazing for Monzo to carry out events across the country but rather than complaining about the first Investor meet up they have arranged now, just let them get on with it.

Agreed - gutted I’ll be missing this!

They’re using their HQ and a venue they have a regular arrangement with. That’s a massive cost saving.

Maybe they will “move it to a different city every once in a while”? It’s the first such event, you can’t criticise them for holding it where it’s likely a very large proportion of their investors are (and is also the country’s main transport hub).

There are at least 2 investors in my little town of 8000 people, I want a Monzo event here.

Equally if this first iteration of the Investor event had taken place somewhere else, there’d be a lot of investors in London feeling a bit miffed about it.

Whilst there are Monzo Investors all over the country, I’m sure a fairly significant proportion are London based.
