Monzo & IFTTT - Share your creations here!

Back to the new applets, I just can’t get excited about this since IFTTT started double dipping by charging both users and Monzo.

Some of these would be much better as native options in the app :eyes:

Some of them kind of are. I use a virtual card and pot for my transport already. You could do the same with groceries etc.

I made a super clunky way to do it based on a statement email once a week! Needs Plus to work though. It was super janky so I stopped using it.

Found it:

Even clumsier than I remembered it. It requires Zapier, and I’m not sure if Zapier’s free service allows ^ anymore

Surprised anyone uses IFTTT anymore tbf, it was semi useful as a free service, it’s obsolete to me as a paid service.

You have to pay for it now?

Free service exists, it’s just massively restricted.

If you’re on Android there’s an easier way. But I think you’re on iOS?

Indeed I am. I haven’t seen a simple way to do it.

@Ordog Probably triggered by this?

All mine are still working… Also have more than the 5 free (13 running) and they all work

The free service is getting further restrictions soon.

How do they decide which two remain? Oldest running? :upside_down_face:

Homekit, Google Home, Open Source UI’s, Home Assistant - IFTTT is becoming a dinosaur pretty quickly. Sadly. I loved IFTTT but have no need for it anymore in its current structure.

RIP  I’m not paying for IFTTT

A business gotta do what a business gotta do, RIP my savings challenge.

Good luck to them though

At this point Monzo should just kill the integration. After all, they’re also being stiffing just for the privilege of connecting to ifttt.

Now, how do we get a connection to Zapier…?

Sadly Zapier also charge for doing any form of transformation on the data too - so even that is an unlikely option.

I have found a platform called Make.com - which allows you to connect, transform and otherwise play with peoples APIs.

They allow a certain volume of data for free (rather than charge for the useful bit)

Been trying to see if I can make it do useful things - but it needs more technical tweakery than IFTTT

I think that this was clearly a (genius) side-project of SimonVC which basically only he could have started because he was a founding member and had defacto power, but then was also abandoned after he left because it’s niche, extra work, and risk.

We can be l but hope. I’ve practically abandoned iftt since their latest restrictions, trying to move us all to paid tiers. I might have considered upgrading but I only ever used it for monzo
