There’s some amazing and creative uses of IFTTT in this thread. I really love the updating cell in a spreadsheet one to trigger action - need to think how I can use that one for some other things.
When you’re on the platform and expand the ‘filter code’ section you get a full list of all the trigger data and anything relating to the action(s) you have attached to the applet - you can also do multiple actions from the platform like withdraw from pot, log on spreadsheet, send a tailored notification or do a mix of whatever actions you like… very powerful if you can get your head round it. I can’t claim I have yet lol!

An exciting use from next year, bulb energy have it on their Dev list to go onto ifttt with their smart meters… Literally have a pot to match your power usage ahead of bill date …

I was told today that it’s not until next year, prob trying to gets the costs down!
Damn it, need to get shot of this stupid dual rate British Gas meter. I have 1 rate that never changes (had free saturdays with BG) but no other energy supplier can cope with the estimated reads for it.
My bills are regularly stupidly high until I manually email them photos of the meter every month

Any idea if / when a “on balance change” trigger will happen? I have a forecasting spreadsheet and would love it if I could just keep my current account balance updated in (near) real time.

What sort of things could you do with Bulb and IFTTT?
Im presuming will be making your balance, current usage data usable within other devices?
Flash the lights when power surge of the kettle sets the meter spinning? 
Export your usage each day into your budget tools, so you could be saving your bill money as you use it? (when they launch payg will help them more)
Check if you might of left things on when your out?
Set yourself targets to get your energy footprint below a level?

Some great guesses - I didn’t imagine it being so powerful. All I could think of was ‘Send meter reading at the end of the month’

I wanna make one that sends me a notification every time my coin jar goes over a certain amount? Like £10
Been trying for ages is that possible?
Would it be easier to set your pot goal on the app to £10? I have mine set to £5 and get a nice Monzo notification when it gets there

IFTTT can’t do this currently because you can’t read pot totals and the trigger is a transaction event
So yeah setting goals is the only way currently

If there is anyone here who understands how to use the advanced coding settings to create a Monzo to Apple Numbers (rather than google spreadsheet which will then proceed to sell my data somewhere) spreadsheets for expenses category only, they’d be a legend.
