I agree with this, but when I’ve used them, they are always very heavily scrutinised. When you pay with a £10, people barely give it a second glance!
I used to work in a pub when I was a lad and we had the local travellers come in with their head of the family.
He would have about 100 X £50s in his wallet minimum and nothing smaller. This was a time when a pint was £1.50 so he would basically go round the pub what everyone wanted to drink and buy a round for the whole bar (and me) everytime he finished his pint.
Never really seen any £50s since, and I don’t do cash so rare I’m ever going to see one again.
