Looking to buy a new deskchair - recommendations wanted šŸŖ‘

Some of these chairs are amazing - I do feel guilt at spending so much money on a chair but I guess it’s where I spend a huge bunch of my time

My bank balance shall not be pleased…

I’m not going to lie, I originally bought the secret labs one as it was batman! It goes nicely with my batwing lamp, and comics on the bookcase next to the desk

That’s what I said to convince myself to get a secretlab chair. Comfort and good posture/ergonomics are really important for people who work at a desk.

Failing that you can get your workplace to commission a bunch of bespoke ones :upside_down_face:

I have a Herman Miller Verus Triflex. Got it new (work put some money towards it), got to pick custom colours, and with all available adjustability. Would highly recommend. I think it’s the cheapest HM and imo it’s still wonderful. It’s made a big difference, and I find it helps me feel better physically even if I don’t sit in it properly. My husband bought the same one after seeing and trying mine. It also had a great Which write up.

Thanks to this thread my Flex card just got a little less flexible too… :joy: – looking forward to trying out one of these SecretLab chairs you’re all raving about…

I had an Ergohuman mesh chair which I got at the start of the pandemic, but it’s frankly rubbish and definitely not worth the price they are selling them at - the mesh has started to go, the wheels are starting to disintegrate, the armrests are peeling off and the gas has gone in the lift.

These are the ones we have in the office, and I found so comfortable, I bought one for home as well. Seems like a lot for a chair, but will last at least 10 years, so over that time it’s not too bad on an annual basis (and probably better for your back)

Yes.

Hers a close up of mine

Will be in use for 10-12 hours while I work thru Hellblade 1 on my Xbox

Consider investing in a Herman Miller Aaron chair for comfort and reliability. I bought one second-hand from the now-defunct 2ndhnd.com website for Ā£400. Although my wife still thinks it was a ridiculous expense, I’ve used it for eight years without any issues. Meanwhile, she ends up buying a cheap Amazon or Ikea chair almost every year…

I got one of these a few years back from a fortuitous time when the office was closing and they didn’t have anywhere to store them, of course I was happy to ā€œkeep it safeā€ for them.

I’ve yet to find an office chair anywhere near this level of comfort. So much so that even though I no longer use it, I can’t bear myself to part with it.

Which is a long way of saying I agree, absolutely worth the investment.

I’ve just got this one and it’s really comfortable and I did consider a Secret Labs chair but felt it was a bit on the pricey side. Have had it a couple of weeks now and it’s comfortable to sit in all day when I’m WFH. Was on offer at Costco couple of weeks back but can be had cheaper elsewhere if you shop around

I do that sometimes and the Titan has a large flat base which is great for it.

Their customer support and long warranty is amazing too. You won’t regret it. 5 years strong and mines still like new.

Ive got the AndaSeat Luna and can confirm it’s one of the nicest chairs I’ve ever sat in. Seems really well built too.

Alongside the Herman Miller I got from a previous job, all I can say is it’s a good thing I’ve got a standing desk

I do this too and it seems to work well with the Anda seat.

A lot of the ā€œlower endā€ gaming chairs have plastic bases which ultimately snap out from the main seat and I’ve heard a few Corsairs go this way. The Anda have metal bases, seems tough enough so far.

Not sure that’s possible.

They seem to be used in every single gaming tournament which says a lot. Get yourself to one of those and have a sneaky sit in one

I need to wake up before I try reading text on my mobile, as I was wondering who would want a deckchair in winter :man_facepalming:

For the record, since the invention of the laptop, I don’t even own a desk :man_shrugging::rofl:

I recently purchased a Slouch TaskOne chair having previously only had <Ā£150 chairs from Amazon.

I’m sitting in it right now and it’s definitely a huge step up. It’s firm, but feels like the right level of support and forces me to sit properly!

Not just me then. And I’m wearing my glasses and I’ve been up four hours.

I’ve had the Secretlab Titan Evo XL for about 9 months now after seeing everyone’s posts on here - while it’s a nice firm chair and is absolutely fine for a full day of work, it has one design flaw that is a minor annoyance – if you lean to the left or right, even slightly, the button for the armrests activate and cause them to move away from your body unexpectedly… :upside_down_face:
