Haha, fingers crossed it hasn’t changed in 5 years ![]()
I just appreciate well packaged things, and instructions etc, where everything has been clearly well thought out.

I’m so glad you liked it! I was really engaged in your chair buying journey ![]()
I seem to recal mine being a bit firm at first but it doesn’t take long to get better. And not in an excessive way that it starts to show butt grooves or creases in the material etc. It will still look exactly the same and be very supportive.
Dont forget to register for your extended warranty. Our dog tore one of the arm rests and they replaced the whole thing without any hesitation.
Any chair mat recommendations? Those plastic sheet things, to protect your carpet.
I’m on my 3rd one in 18 months, they keep splitting. It’s £80 down the drain each time.
I see you can get tempered glass ones now… I’d be scared that it would shatter though…
I’ve had this one for nearly 4 years with no issues
Marvelux 90 x 120cm (36" x 47")… Marvelux 90 x 120cm Premium Polycarbonate Chair Mat, Heavy Duty Office Chairmat for Medium Pile Carpets, Durable Clear Rectangular Carpet Protector Mat, Made in the UK : Amazon.co.uk: Home & Kitchen
I’m going to try some rollerblade wheels instead though and hope I can get rid of it.
I ended up just buying a rug as those things just constantly needed replacing. Seems to have worked fine for me and the rug is holding up well even with me fidgeting around in my chair all the time all the time.
Does that one slide out of position over time?
Would that help? I have the SecretLab Titan and I see that they sell roller blade wheels…
I like to glide smoothly. I’m guessing your glide requires a bit of effort on a rug?
With the wheels on the Fractal Refine chair there is a bit of effort needed but not enough that it annoys me, your mileage may vary obviously.
I’d imagine with those roller blade style wheels you would be fine though.
I put double sided tape on it. Not glamorous but does the job
I reckon I’ll give rollerblade wheels a try first, without the mat.
I’ve been accused by the manufacturer (Cleartex) of misusing the mat, as they assure me that the mat should not split with normal usage. Their warranty cover is pointless.
They even had the cheek to ask me for my weight. I’m not fat, so it’s not that.
That said, I am on my 3rd SecretLab backrest as well (2 failed and were replaced under warranty). I’ve no idea what I’m doing wrong. There is something about me, clearly. ![]()
Is your office set up also your own soft play area?
You’d think so.
Having read that as “deckchair” I almost recommended something completely unsuitable.
Ok but how much do you really weigh? ![]()
Did you happen to stim at your desk and break the backrests? ![]()
These have arrived and have solved my problem. I no longer need a mat on the carpet.
Glad it worked!
Oooo I never knew secret labs did these wheels. It has bugged me that the standard wheels have squashed all my carpet.
I’ll give these a go when we renovate the house later in the year - thanks! ![]()
The reviews of the SecretLab branded wheels are actually quite bad. These 3rd party wheels from Desktronic that I posted are apparently much better.
How is your chair doing? I like my Titan XL but the reliability hasn’t been great so far. The warranty has been decent though, they just ship out a new one each time, no quibbles.
Less than 50% of the weight limit of the chair. That’s as much as you are getting out of me. ![]()
