received this too
got mine yesterday, waiting for the card now
I’m in, applied, accepted they seem to have removed the £500 max limit criteria, which is great.
Great that they give you details to spend online straight away. Onboarding was fairly painless although the ID scan didn’t work for me.
Good to hear they are doing bigger credit limits. I’ve asked several times about reviewing limits and they just say there’s no update.
I got the email too, just applied. They gave me a £2,100 limit.
I really don’t like the whole, make everything into a chat with a bot approach - but despite that, the sign-up was very smooth. I liked the way it fills in all your details automatically by scanning your driving licence.
Weird that they use GoCardless for their direct debits, my optician uses them for my £6 a month contact lense review payments. I saw them as a thing only small businesses would use.
The cynic in me thinks it strange the sudden rush to issue invites in the same week that Tymit launch in the app store. That said, when the 784 people ahead of me in the queue get their invites I will be eagerly watching my inbox for mine!
I’m number 38
I’ve been sent an invite > applied > approved
Given me £1,900 limit
Part of me liked the chat bot sign up flow
I started at #9614 and now I’m #8,909. So I’ve moved up 705 places in the queue in 8 months.
But I’m British and appreciate/tolerate/endure a good queue
I wish Jaja had kept the cashback. It am between it and Tandem now as tandem at least give a little.
JAJA says there are no cash withdrawal fees? Is interested applied from the time of withdrawal or is it like a normal transaction?
Why would anyone use a credit card without rewards?
Has anyone so far been rejected?
Yes I got rejected. Might be because I’m not jet 3 years a resident in the UK (going to be in February 2020). Have a perfect credit history and have already for 1.5 years a Barclaycard . They couldn’t tell why of course…
Interested in people’s credit limit if they wouldn’t mind sharing
(Mine 1.9k)
For me, the following continue to underpin my interest in Jaja
Rewards offerred by current (UK) credits cards aren’t so compelling that they trump every other aspect of credit card usage.
Typically most credit checks require 3 years. The only times I’ve seen this been bypassed is if the person helping you apply (in branch/shop etc) modifies the date.
For example, when I arrived back in the country after years away (no previous credit history as I was too young). The person in EE who was doing my sim only plan changed my move in date for my then current address to be over the 3 year limit
So pretty typical (from what I’ve seen) to not be accepted for a credit of any sort if you haven’t been in the country for a certain amount of time.
Indeed, that is what I normally heard when applying. I got the Barclays credit card after being a year in the country (after trying many other credit cards), it was an initial card but has a good credit limit and has now changed to a platinum card. Just sad to see how hard it is in the uk to build a credit history. Because you need credit to build it but you can only get it when you have a credit history .
Isn’t Barclays changing it to a Platinum card just changing the card design to keep you sweet? I thought the APR/limit etc all stay the same.
