I got £2,500 for mine just waiting for the card to arrive now.
That’s true, no extra benefits. That’s why I’m looking for another card because the changes for foreign currencies are high. You can only get te travel CC when you join as a new customer or stop your card for 6 months .
I sent Jaja a message over 24 hours ago asking about existing customers and credit limits and so far had no reply. I’ve asked before and just got a standard reply, but now others are getting better limits than the beta lot, it would be good to have existing limits reviewed.
With a bigger limit, and apple/google pay, I’d stick with this card, especially as the Tandem cashback card may go soon.
JaJa replied, no plans to increase limits at the moment and may review next year. Makes the card quite useless.
What’s your limit?
£500, which is what the beta users got.
Hmm that’s a shame
Out of curiosity what do people see as a useful limit? Are you getting what you need/want?
I’m new to the credit card world but I think £2500 would be useful to cover extra purchases outside a normal months spending ~£1500.
Currently have a Amex Nectar they gave £12,000 limit and wanted to know if I wanted it much higher. Most of the time it’ll be putting less than £2k on it a month and always paying in full.
As a second card JAJA it’ll still be useful with only £500 limit I guess. Which is what my Monzo has become when non-Amex crops up.
I got £2500
Those who got the card how long did it take to get through the waiting list? I just checked and turns out I applied in October 2018 and I’m still 973 in the queue (apparently). I even invested a token sum in terms of shares when they were crowdfunding and even that didn’t help. Reached out to them and filled out their Seeders investor form in early 2019 and still nothing.
I signed up to the waiting list 2019-10-21 and got invited to apply on Thursday. My impression was that investors were invited to apply already so may be worth getting in touch.
I joined the waiting list in Oct 2018, invested a small amount (3 figures), and have been in top 30 on waiting list for several months.
Only received invite to submit App Store email address a few days ago but still waiting to be given access to the app so still waiting to apply.
21/10/18 I’m the 48 now. When I joined the list I didn’t have a credit card, now I have aqua reward, amex and virgin so I don’t need this card anymore.
I guess if you had a lower limit than 3x the balance you could get round that by two monthly payments so that when the balance is reported to the CRAs it’s lower and then pay the remaining balance when needed.
I assume when the £500 tests have in place people have been probably using most of that than keeping to £150 max. I guess if it’s one of many CCs it’s not significant from the combined utilisation.
Jaja doesn’t appear on any of the free ones I check (credit karma, clearscore and MSE). If it did, I’d probably close it as I can’t imagine a £500 limit looks great.
Looks like they’ve got their BACS processes working fairly smoothly:
Does anyone know whether they’ve on boarded the BoI customers yet?
That’s not due to happen until sometime next year
What makes Jaja a good option? I can’t work it out!
The limit is set by themselves and I don’t think lenders will take other lenders’ credit limits into consideration as they all have different criteria. Instead they’d just run their own scoring algorithm on your report and come up with their own limit.
I’ve had the beta since January and I still fail to see what makes it good.
