Hi, I’m about to head overseas for a while so opened a new Monzo account & received a new debit card in the post.
I’ve been trying to transfer money from my Halifax current account into the new Monzo account but I get an error message from Halifax whenever I try to add the new payee. The sort code & account number I’m inputting have been double checked & triple checked at this point so I know that’s not the issue.
Monzo haven’t replied on the app as of yet, so I’m hoping someone here might be able to help?! Thanks.

I know you’ve triple checked, but you are using 04-00-04 aren’t you? (I ask as the number of times I’ve put in 04-00-40 by mistake…)
Thanks for the help everyone - resolved now! Turns out my beneficiary name with Monzo is too long for the Halifax app to accept, so I just needed to abbreviate it.
Shame the Halifax error message didn’t bother informing me of that but hey-ho!
Hi iv withdrawn some. Money from an online betting site casumo and taking rather a long time they have processed it On there end a good 7 hours ago does it usually take so long for the money to hit a Monzo account?
It really depends on a few factors, like what time of day send the money through the MasterCard network, if it was done after around 5pm then it should take some time as its outside of a business day
Yeah it was 12 last night that the site processed it bur its not showing at all in my account but its processed on the betting site so can’t understand why it isn’t showing hopefully it will show in the next few hours
Usually, it’s probably because of the timings, I’m pretty sure it’ll come soon
I hope so iv been reading things saying 1-5 working days if I’d have known. It would take thins long I’d have withdrawn to my skill account as iv just read that’s instant and bank transfer is 1-5 days really should read stuff first
I just had very interesting experience with Halifax. Money transfer to Monzo account was declined and i was directed to phone banking. Agent on the call tried with all the security checks and gave me the reason that since Monzo is not a british bank that’s why we can’t clear the transaction. I corrected him saying it’s a proper british bank with full banking license from PRA/FCA and he put me on hold. Apparently spoke to the supervisor and came back with same uninformed answer. when I offered him to give my lloyds bank account he happily executed the transfer… Is this a deliberate attempt to make things difficult for Monzo bank’s customer. I made a complaint to through official website for full written explanation but I am sure – response will be protecting customer’s money etc etc … we can’t tell exact reason blah blah… if Monzo transfer was a suspected fraud then how come Lloyds bank transfer is genuine on the same call …
I generally assume cock up over conspiracy, to somewhat paraphrase Napoleon, but that does sound really rather dubious
