iOS 26

It was supposed to be, but recent reports are that Siri 2.0 (Gemini) has been delayed again.

Oh dear. They can’t seem to get it right. Maybe the delay will be worth it…

This delay stuff is bit overblown. All they ever said was it will come this year. They never said it will be in February or a specific update.

Yes, it was the tech journos who were saying that it was coming in 26.4, not Apple themselves.

26.4 is just the first developer beta at the moment, BTW. I tend to jump in around beta 4 if it’s looking stable.

In defence of the tech journos, new Siri was due in 2024 and has been coming ā€œthis yearā€ ever since. Apple did this to themselves.

It’s 2026 now and Siri is miles behind the competition.

The blogs were basing on some lines of code that been earlier seen and thought it would probably be in 18.4. I saw many claim it will be on 18.4/5

Has anyone noticed that on some sites or apps while paying with Apple pay the default payment card icon is shown in the button?
In the screenshot my Lloyds WE card icon is shown.

I have updated to the latest dev beta, there’s now a requirement to verify being 18+ due to UK law, to remove certain restrictions.

Seen this floating about the web for Australia.

Just need all social media platforms to up the age to 18 and be done with it.

There’s also this. Wondering why my account didn’t get this option.

The slow App Store issue is fixed so that’s something.

The age verification….Apple said this was an error on the last beta.

It seems it was something to test lol.:rofl::rofl:

It just notes I had a credit card and I was done.

Mine would be but I did change account at some point so it probably wouldn’t have been 18 years ago.

Same. Although I think my iCloud email is over 18 years old. Let alone me @me.comme.c@mac.comm or @mac.com……

Edit: (I googled it, my iCloud is only 14.5, and @me.com only 18 on 9th July this year - planning the party already!)

Apple said it was an error when it popped up in the beta versions, obviously it wasn’t. However, seems strange you can’t verify your age by passport, as not everyone will have a credit card or driving licence.

(Btw, it doesn’t affect me but it may affect others)

I verified by licence. You tap the credit card option and at the bottom gives you alternatives.

By the time they said it was an ā€œerrorā€, they had already gotten enough testers confirming to them that it works.

I have this but I somehow had to enter my long card details again. I have my credit card as payment method with several purchases too.

I recently changed my AppleID, could that probably be why I was not deemed eligible to use this?

Why oh why does the WatchOS specifically take so long compared to all the others?

I updated everything else last night (I’ve got a lot - iPhone, TV, MacBook, iPad) and it took roughly half an hour to get them all done even with the Apple Servers presumably being whacked hard with everyone grabbing the updates.

I left the Watch until this morning when I charge it up normally - started the update at 7am and it’s still going on now 2 and half hours later. It’s finally got to the installing on Watch stage about 5 mins ago so until then it had just been trying to download to the phone.
