iOS 26

Is there any easy way, just being curious, that you can see when you created your apple account? I’m pretty sure I had a ‘wheely’ iPod back when I was in Uni so I assume I had one by then (in 2005!) but I also think I signed up for iTunes when that first launched and you could (back then) buy individual tracks and albums from them (rather than pure streaming) so I’d assume that was when my Apple account would’ve been born?

My watch always asks me to update iPhone before I do it. So I started downloading on the watch as iPhone updated. By the time iPhone finished, the watch was also preparing the installation. It was done in 15 minutes. It was above 50% and on charge.
I haven’t noticed any delays like yours.

Just looked back at my purchase history - first song I purchased from Apple was on 14th Jan 2006.

And..it was Chesney Hawkes - The One and Only :face_with_peeking_eye:

Turn off bluetooth on the watch, it then does the update via WiFi instead and it’s much quicker

Took about 15 minutes to update my watch (series 10) and didn’t need to disable Bluetooth.

I assume the title of the song refers to how many actual hits he’s had…

This is annoying. On the App Library screen, which is my main way of opening Apps, the Productivity section and the Finance section are now combined.

It wasn’t like this yesterday and my phone has been on 26.4.1 for a few days now, so it isn’t an iOS update.

I’ll have to go back to making my own folders again. Boo!

Mine are still separate

Mine are separate too, wonder if they get combined if you don’t have that many apps in those categories

Don’t think so. I have to scroll up on the combined one.

It’s basically your phone looking at your Apps and trying to work out the best way to group them depending on how many actual Apps (and what they are) installed.

So, one day it’ll be nice and separate, next day, you’ve installed a new completely separate App and your phone has decided that it needs it’s own folder, but also doesn’t want to make you scroll all the way down through 3 pages of folders to get to it, so it’ll auto-magically combine and group apps each time. Productivity and Finance do seem to be regularly combined instead of something like ‘Entertainment’ and ‘Games’ which seem to be kept separate but would make more sense to me to group together. But then probably Entertainment and Games are making Apple a bit more money as people will actually buy those apps (or subscribe through the App store) whereas Finance apps are generally ‘given away’ for free (at least Bank apps are).

This is the folder.

The only app you can’t see here is Wise which is off the screen at the bottom.

Myequifax was added about two weeks ago, opened two or three times and will now be deleted (I’m clearing out unused apps in any case).

It’s probably not the last time that an automated process will encourage me to resort to manual.

It’s not the Apps in this particular folder that’s meant they’re all grouped in a shared folder. It’ll be a completely unrelated app that has meant that your phone has decided that either needs it’s own folder, or it split another folder into 2 different topics. Because it’s created a new folder somewhere else, it’s decided to merge this one to keep the same number of overall folders.

It hasn’t. There is one fewer folders now.

how do ppl feel about the new age verification on ios?

No issue as I’m over 18.

No issues, automatically verified as I have a credit card setup on Apple Pay.

Much prefer to put my trust in Apple/Google who can then tell apps my age range instead of having to verify on individual apps I trust less.

If you’re over 18 and you’re not part of the “the government have some agenda and are out to get us” tinfoil hat club it shouldn’t be an issue

Those are some of the only groups I can think of that would have issues

There must be a reason or logic behind why it’s combined the two folders for some people and not others. I’ve updated to latest version and after this conversation was expecting to see them combined but it’s not done that.

On the age verification piece, while it was automatic as I pay for things on a credit card, I disagree with the principle of having to verify I’m 18 or over to use everything on my phone and not have restrictions placed on me.

Seems like “Express Transport” mode is kinda exploitable?
