Nice update to Watch OS.
The numbers round the outside ring referencing the time have been messed up since the last major update.

There’s also piped.video for YouTube, it has sponsor block, I don’t use it so I’m not sure on any gotchas but looks worth a try.
I’ve used the Beta program for several years and this is the first time I have had problems. Apps freezing across the board. I guess that is the downside of downloading that software.
Cross linking to here for what could come…
I am not jumping through hoops and having a worse online experience just so Google don’t know what I’ve bought from Amazon. Baffling!
God forbid data online, and now Apple wants the data from your eyes
People be hiding under rocks again.
I would say you’ve got out of the wrong side of bed, but because you covered your webcam with a towel before you went to bed, Google can’t tell me
Hey, so I’ve got a weird bug with my home automations - so wondering if anyone’s got any ideas.
Basically, since 17.3, the ones for things like ‘when I come home, turn on the lights’ haven’t been working.
Today I thought I’d just delete them all and set them up again. When I did that, I noticed that on the map which shows ‘home’ - the location is actually very wrong. Somehow it’s showing a road 3 streets over. I cannot find anywhere in the Home app though where it’s getting that location from.
I’ve double-checked my own contact card and it’s definitely got the right address and the map in there is pointing to the right place.
Even if I try and reset the ‘location’ to my address instead of just ‘home’ it seems to get confused and then moves it back to the incorrect address.
Any idea how I can get Apple Home to know where I’m actually living again?
ok - just to follow-up in case someone else has something similar…
I think I’ve fixed it. As I’m at home at the moment, went into Find My and then ‘Me’ and the ‘Location’ was set to ‘None’. Reset that to ‘Home’ and that seems to have fixed it (at least the maps now in Apple Home seem to show the right location). I’ll find out later when some automations kick in!
Just a bit annoyed this was working fine until 17.3 and somehow got unset during the update…
I wish they’d fix the font or spacing. Thought it said 688BPM for a second.
I’m having more issues with the latest iOS17 Developer Beta;
In Phone ‘recents’ tab, despite receiving numerous calls in the past few days nothing is stored.
Secondly when I open my a couple of my bank accounts, the first t time the screen freezes & then when I shut down the tab and then reopen it, all works smoothly. Very strange!
Any stability improvements so far?
There was a few issues with the previous.
Using outlook email app it wouldn’t open safari when tapping links, it used the third party one from the email app to open them. That’s fixed now.
Screenshots and dropping them was very intermittent which also seems fixed now.
Not noticed much else but those two were the most frustrating.
I see that WatchOS 10.3.1 has brought back the hold then swipe to change watch faces.
I took my Series 5 in to Apple for a new battery last week (they don’t change the battery, they swap the watch).
The new one was on WatchOS 9.
Updated overnight and couldn’t change my watch face this morning.
Eventually worked out that I had to hold then swipe and that there had been a new update which was released the day my visit to the Apple shop. Grrrr.
On your watch:
Settings > Clock > Swipe to Switch Watch Face
I really should have known this
I’ll admit my devices haven’t been playing game as well recently either. Nothing drastic or worthy of change, but certainly a grunt of disappointment with my other half muttering “Apple; it just doesn’t work” beside me.
HomePod needs a real look into as it’s a nightmare to manage. The Home App really isn’t great and my paired HomePods connected to my Apple TV just often stop working for absolutely no discernible reason.
The most frustrating thing iOS 17 seem to be going back and forth on is the Watch’s relationship with an alarm set on the iPhone. It used to work perfectly where I didn’t ever touch the alarm on my Watch, but it would vibrate to wake me from my iPhone alarm without any noise from the iPhone until a little time had passed and it was clear the Watch alone wasn’t waking me up.
It was utterly perfect for someone getting up daily at 04:30 to not wake my partner, but now the Watch vibrates at the same time as the phone blares an alarm out. It worked fine before!
(And yes I could set the alarm on my Watch but while I’ve always woken up from the vibrations alone, I can’t rely on that always and prefer the backup of an iPhone blaring just in case).
I’m not on the Beta and so far my HomePods, iPhone and AppleTV are all playing nicely together. Fingers crossed.
I still have them!
