Hi @Bankiedonnie67 & welcome

There’s a lot of good advice here (although 99% of members are users, not Monzo staff and so everyone can’t give personalised financial advice) - but there are plenty of tips ā€˜n’ tricks available, especially on using the app in day-to-day life.

Lots of experienced people and characters too - for a banking forum, it’s highly enjoyable.

Don’t be afraid to ask or contribute - you may come across something no-one else does!

Hi everyone! I’m Kyle and I’m a Monzo user in the US! I’ve been enjoying it so far but I’m trying to become more active in the community since feedback is such a crucial part of every business.

Welcome!

HI guys, Im Stephen. Hope you’re ok! Im having an issue I can’t figure out, so hopefully you can help. Ive tried on three different businesses/site to use my Monzo card and each time I fill out forms it tells me ā€˜Please enter a valid debit card number’. Ive checked and checked and have no idea why this is happening as never had an issue before.
Any advice?

Hi @SJB & welcome

If it’s worked before OK, check in-app to see if you have accidentally frozen your card.

Hi David, it’s actually happened in three different apps now. I have no idea the best way to figure this out. The card is still working fine on those it’s already connected to, but ā€˜incorrect’ number on anything new. So annoying and weird!

Do you mean 3 different services (like Amazon, Netflix, etc.) to which you are trying to use the same :monzo: card to pay the initial, and ongoing, subscription fees?

Do you mean Direct Debits or CPA’s (card subscription, like Amazon, Netflix, etc.) or both?

  • Have you recently changed your :monzo: card?
  • Have you cleared the cache of the browser you are using to sign-up to the services?
  • Are you entering the Sort Code properly? (this can trip people up) ignore that - sort code not used when signing up to card-based subscriptions

Enter your 16-digit card number into this website to check it is correct:

Hi I applied for a Monzo Card for travel purposes…especially in out of the way places where they don’t know what an ATM is! I love travel the more the better and work to travel!

Hi @LINDA57 & welcome

That’s how I started with Monzo - with a card back in the pre-paid account days. Since then, Monzo has become a complete banking solution and the innovations and features have kept me on board - I’m currently using it as my daily financial hub for almost everything.

Have fun with the travelling! :passenger_ship: :airplane: :sun_with_face: :beach_umbrella:

Just some advice to all the newbies… :wave:t4:

I’m tempted to deactivate myself from this community as you may find some people get sarcastic and defensive over peoples thoughts opinions and questions.

Eg; if you have a thought on something as an open topic someone will make a long list of why it’s not a valid point.

Another, is if you make a new topic someone will say ā€œI’m sure this has been discussed before, try look it up firstā€.

There is great information on here but when you get a few people who are regular keyboard warriors it can become a toxic and unproductive environment.

Maybe better just reading :eyes: rather than typing :speech_balloon:

I don’t think this is very good advice and if anything would put people off even wanting to read the community?

Everything you’ve said is true, but it’s a bit of a one-dimensional view.

And equally people make a list of reasons to say why it’s a good idea. We’ll never all agree on something and it would make for a very boring community/world if we did.

Which is constructive feedback. They also search for them and provide links that no doubt help answer all of their questions and more.

Of course, there will be the odd comments that do go against the community guidelines, however they are very few and far between now since the great community lockdown.

Some appreciate the help of pointing to other topics.

Putting suggestions out there and not appreciating the feedback says more about the OP than others sharing their view.

Sometimes the two way internet isn’t for everyone.

Commenting like this in this topic in a bid to put people off is not the way. It doesn’t matter how you feel you’ve been treated, this feels like a very grimy way to put your point across.

This post has done more to harm ā€œnewbiesā€ than anything anyone else does.

You post complete gibberish half the time and don’t like it when people question you. You made another topic saying similar because someone dared question you.

You’re just an attention seeker.
