In-App Balances Displaying Incorrectly

Why no text alert like usual? Normally Monzo are on top of this stuff. This feels different.

Should be coming back to normal now. Payments and the money in your account were not affected by this. :+1:

Testing/ making the backed for international expansion in other countries/currencies?

Now my savings pot is showing £0 balance :thinking: yet other pots are fine.

Same here on Android, savings pot is at 0

Regardless of any development or testing that’s going on, it’s incredibly bad that the live app being used by real users has been affected. This shouldn’t be possible. It’s not the same as a back end system going down and making the whole app unavailable. I’d love to know what it is that Monzo were doing that caused this.

Who said it was testing going on? The screenshot from COps said it was a bug rather than active testing.

If your assumptions, which haven’t been confirmed are correct - yes.

But until that time, it isn’t a major cause for concern - you’ve imagined a scenario where Monzo are testing on live systems without any basis (i.e, they haven’t done that before).

Not to mention it was a display issue as confirmed by a COp above.

Really? Some unknown minority of users have had a display issue. If that counts as a major cause for concern, you must have a very stressful life!

I agree. It’s not something that should be happening in my opinion. I think this also links in with why aren’t balances cached within the app which has been suggested in other threads? You wouldn’t expect to login to a legacy bank and see your balance as 0, it shouldn’t be happening here either.

It happened to me. And it is a serious cause of concern? It’s not minor.

At least this shows Monzo’s system is getting geared up for the USA

I tried logging into my Nationwide app yesterday, and got a screen overlay with a non-working button, then when I finally got to the main screen, it couldn’t load my list of payees for me to make a transfer. I shrugged my shoulders and decided to do it later. These things happen.

According to the above screenshot, it was a display issue. And it was resolved within an hour of you spotting it. And it was confirmed that it didn’t effect any of your money or any payments.
