I lost access to my monzo about 2yrs ago i have received a new card today randomly and wouldn’t mind using it again but the account is registered to a old email and phone number also i cannot remember the log in details
Based on what’s written here, this sounds potentially fraudulent.
You wont have randomly received a replacement card.
They’re sent when they expire but I believe you need to confirm your address before this happens.
nothing fraudulent lol someone sent me money a few months ago but sent it to my old monzo by accident as they are a friend who i have knew for years and honestly i just received a new card out of the blue wasn’t fussed about the money because he re sent it to my new bank but now they have sent the card wouldn’t mind getting the money tried it in the cash machine but it said to contact the bank but i can’t do that without logging in and haven’t got a clue on how to get in
Thank goodness all that doesn’t sound weird.
It’s a lot easier to help when you tell us the full story and are honest.
We’re just customers here so you need to speak to monzo really via the email above. No one here can resolve this for you.
There’s nothing “random” about it. You have a Monzo account with an expiring card, they’ve then sent you a new card to your registered address.
You’ll need to speak to support and see how much of this they believe.
Perhaps they shouldn’t do this for better security and less waste. When people leave their account dormant, let them order a new card when they actually need one.
Tone perhaps a little quick to judge here?
No reason this couldn’t be plausible.
I used to assess people’s finances and plenty of them had accounts at old addresses they’d forgotten about.
A few months ago I reaccessed a Newcastle style virgin money profile from 2021 that had the wrong address and email as both had changed. I needed some support to do so.
I’ve noticed it’s a common theme in this forum, there was similar disbelief in another topic that someone could have difficulty opening a UK bank account as an adult if they never had one before.
People seem to believe that because they’ve never been in a particular situation that it’s impossible anyone else could be.
Yes, Natwest do that, they hadn’t sent me a debit card for years, until I asked for one a few months ago.
I never, personally, said it wasn’t. I agree there is an assumption that often these are not. I tend to think that overall there is a level of BullS*T on these posts, because if it was really true they’d have spoken to Monzo and had it resolved already.
In this specific instance, I simply noted that it would be easier to help if we had the full context first time
