Google Pixel 6

That is a good point. Apple on 20W and Samsung on 25W is setting the bar low.

I’m used to 33W now on mine and its pretty sufficient to be fair.

I’m just looking at outside those you have mid range with 30W+ to 120W

Xiaomi 11T Pro good example with 120W at £599

Although I’d rather have the Pixel 6.

I’m sure Xiaomi will be forced to rethink it’s pricing structure.

Like who on earth is buying the Mi 11 Ultra at £1,199.00

Same goes for Motorola, why go with that Edge 20 Pro £699 when you can get a Pixel 6 way cheaper. That phone was already taking the piss price wise when you can get the ZTE Axon 30 at £429 with the same chip and specs plus underscreen tech.

Yeah so it’s just the weight, the Pixel 5a was a respectable 183g.

I’m assuming that camera bump is making both the 6 and Pro basically the same weight.

Pixel 5 (151g) to Pixel 6 (203g) is going to be noticeable in the hand.

The Pixel 6 Pro with its 5000 mAh at 210g is about acceptable though for dimensions and battery weight.

Do I dare post that in the iPhone 13 thread where I was giving them shit for the Pro Max being a hefty 240g with only a 4352 mAh battery which was met with a denial that it’s heavy.

We still haven’t got those fancy call assistants yet , the ones that answer calls for you and ask for a name etc, despite them being announced as far bag as the pixel 3 if I remember correctly, maybe it’s a regulatory thing?

Or they can’t master the accents here : )

It is coming though U.K., France, Germany, Australia, Ireland, Italy and Spain

There’s a big thing in their release video about mastering accents and languages.

I think it’s mentioned in the Tech Spurt review too.

I don’t think anyone denied that it’s heavy.

Some didn’t care, I pointed out that it’s in the same ballpark as the S21 Ultra :man_shrugging:

I’m hoping places like Curry’s already have stock sat in a warehouse ready to go. Will see what happens next week when it’s supposed to be delivered. Currently the estimate I’ve got is next Tuesday for delivery with the latest date it could be been the Thursday.

Have a re-read if you feel like torturing yourself. It’s a painful string of posts about needing to hit the gym, saying that it’s not heavy, whats the problem with a heavy phone, I prefer a heavy phone…

I remember pointing out the ultra is bigger dimensions and a much bigger battery and is still less that the max pro, and that the Galaxy S20+ at 186g being similar dimensions and battery capacity.

I think most didn’t care, but it’s more dramatic to say everyone did

 I didn’t say everyone, you literally just added that onto @ravipatel quote.

I made no comment on how many care.

Let’s not do this again :upside_down_face:

The on-sale date is advertised as 28th Oct, though Google currently says my order is due by the 26th.

Same here! It’s less of a pre-order and more of an order if you ask me :yum: remember waiting ~1 month for each of my previous Pixel and Nexus phones :eyes:

Same here! Looking forward to the 26th  I also really want a new MacBook Pro but I don’t think I can spend that much money in one month

Fell in love with the Nexus 7 when it launched and I’ve stuck with Google ever since, just not for every phone :innocent:

(Pixelmaniac doesn’t have the same ring to it as Nexus, haha)

What did everyone go for?

I wouldn’t mind the 120hz and telephoto but for £250 less I’m finding it hard to justify. Also annoying that they’ve copied Apple with the rubbish colours for the Pros.

Very likely to order a kinda coral today.

Gone for the standard model in Coral. Delivery on the 27th apparently.

First Pixel for me, looking forward to it. Currently got a Sony Xperia 1ii. I reckon if I sell that and the free headphones I might be quids in. May keep the headphones though, will wait and see…

Don’t know if it helps but I’ve tried the 120hz Redmi Note 10 Pro for a short time whilst I had that and the difference from 90hz mode is meh :man_shrugging: Could be that specific phone but I really couldn’t tell the difference personally.

I don’t do a huge amount of gaming which might show it up more, but for using apps and general use I don’t think 120hz is hit that often (if at all).

The 60hz to 90hz has a big difference in the overall day to day smoothness.

I’ve had the Mi 11 Lite 5G for awhile thats been firmly stuck on 90hz

Wonder if we’ll see some shipping updates this week?

The pro dials up and down so should in theory give better battery life as webpages will be 10hz.

I’ve never gone above 60hz so excited to see the difference on the pro.
