Also playing The Last of Us at the moment. Enjoying it so far but I have just started it. I do know how much of the story goes though as I’ve watched the show and have seen spoilers from the second game.

I’m avoiding watching the show but will watch it after I finish the games. Is the show good?

I thought it was boring, but plenty of people seemed to like it

I’d describe it as fairly standard zombie fare. Doesn’t really bring much to that genre, doesn’t do the worst job of running through the various zombie apocalypse tropes either

I personally really enjoyed the show, but there was one episode that I found incredibly boring, although it seemed to be received well by others so who knows what you’ll think.

Final Fantasy Rebirth (extra points to Temple of the Ancients) was absolutely epic (albeit a little too open worldy).

Just got my hands on the D4 expansion so that’ll keep me quiet for a while.

Probably a strange question. I’ve purchased this framed Jeremy Harnell ā€œGenerationsā€ print from King & McGaw, for the wall of my home office, but I can’t work out what the last game controller is…

I recognise the N64, NES, Mega Drive and PlayStation on the left (top to bottom). I also recognise the Xbox, Wii, Atari and SNES on the right. But what is that last controller, to the right of the PlayStation controller?

Sega Master System I think

That’s a console I know nothing about, but I can see now that you are correct. Thank you.

I can remember them from back in the 80s

Released 1985, a couple of years before I was born… I thought I knew all of the retro consoles quite well, but clearly not the Sega Master System.

That’s my evening sorted, reading up on the history and watching YouTube videos.

I started out on Pong back in the 70s :older_man:

Black bars I think, afaik no consoles fully support ultra wide (?). Need a PC for that. It will still work though, definitely shouldn’t stretch the image or anything.

There’s a new young team around :joy:

The monitor may try to stretch the image but this can be adjusted in the on-screen menu usually, by changing ā€œfitā€ to ā€œoriginalā€ or similar.

You will be fine. Enjoy the Series S, from what I’ve heard it’s a decent console (I’m a PlayStation fanboy, but I can still appreciate the other side ).

Calm.

Umm… Have I said something good or bad? I’m 37 and ancient, I’m afraid.

We are clearly past it.

@jo Anyway, the Series S is definitely… slay and calm. It’s a good console.

Do keep us up to date on your gaming, it’s one of my favourite subjects. Do you have any games you intend to play first?

Has this improved yet do you know? I bought it at launch and got it refunded after a few hours, it was buggy and ugly. But I do really want to play it, I still build on city skylines all the time
