I told myself that I wouldn’t order the PS5 Pro, but I couldn’t resist… 6 week wait now

Just out of interest, what made you decide to get the PS5 Pro?

I always tend to opt for fidelity over performance mode, but do notice the lower frame rates on my 4k display. The PS5 Pro should be able to handle 4k@60fps consistently.

Furthermore, the additional 1TB of storage (2TB in total) will be useful, as I’m running low on space and was planning to add some NVMe to my current PS5 anyway.

Also, I already have a disc drive in my current PS5, which is swappable to the Pro, and a stand already, which is also compatible with the Pro.

Although the cost is Ā£699.99, I can sell my current PS5 for Ā£260 to MusicMagpie, making the total cost of upgrade Ā£439.99. It’s hardly going to break the bank and I’ll enjoy it.

That and I have zero interest in PC gaming. I’ve been there and done that, I prefer the simplicity of gaming consoles, particularly PS.

Value is very subjective, of course. I understand the negative comments online over the price, I just don’t necessarily feel the same.

Hope this explains my decision :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for the reply! It’s good to see that it will make you happy. That’s the main thing really. Not for me, but hope others like yourself have a really good time with it :grinning:

I think that is optimistic to say the least but will wait for reviews

They claim it will but I suspect it will involve the use of the new upscaling hardware they have added to the GPU.

There will be some trickery involved but that’s fine, as long as I end up with decent fidelity and a smoother frame rate.

As you say, the reviews should be interesting.

Just got gamepass for 3 months, thought Sifu was another game I had in mind but I was wrong.

Gonna give Call of Duty a go.

Any others you’d recommend?

What genres are you into? All about the action or do you also enjoy the story?

Kinda mixed. COD seems very samey same so I might not see the story through.

Final fantasy, resident evil, RPG style.

I seen legend of Mana which may also tick a box. Loved Sea of Stars or whatever it was.

Some tech type here help a guy out.

Call of duty won’t connect for a battle royale.

NAT = Strict.

Upnp not successful.

I have had a look at port forwarding and I’ve no clue what it means.

I am using EE scancom sim as my home broadband which is likely why NAT is Strict, and whatever I do in port forwarding it doesn’t seem to want to change.

EE will give me ipv 6 but the Xbox doesn’t want to connect to it.

I’ve tried enabling Upnp in my router (NR5103E) to no success.

Just sits looping on ā€œConnectingā€

Is it pointless trying further while using my current broadband set up?

Do I have to add each port as its own port setup?

I managed to resolve the IPV6 - the APN was only set to IPV4.

Even then didn’t resolve anything, so I’ll have to go without Warzone.

Fortnite and Apex work fine with Xbox in its form.

Setup a VPN on your laptop, share the connection with your xbox and try. If it works it’s EE blocking it

Didn’t think of this, any suggestions off a free VPN service?

Never thought about that, would that not only apply if I was in a position to benefit from it opposed to tunneling traffic still with the UK?

I played the one before it and thought it was just ok. Didn’t wanna bother with this one.

It’s not been a great year for games has it? I feel like they all got released last year!

I’ve barely played any new games, I enjoyed Hades 2 (but not as much as 1) and that’s maybe it.

I’ve enjoyed Mario party a bit but yeah, it’s really a game I have for the occasional time people are around and it’s fun to play.

Mainly I’m still playing TotK. And hoping for a new switch :crossed_fingers:

Spent much of this year catching up with games I’ve missed over the years. Don’t think I can think of many games that even came out this year.

Definitely getting Super Mario Party Jamboree. I enjoyed the other 2 Switch releases so for this to supposedly be better is good news. Plus, the boards all look really fun and having so many characters seems like they are trying to put more into this game.

Definitely not a new game but I’m very much enjoying The Last of Us remakes (Parts 1 and 2) at the moment. I didn’t discover the franchise when it first released, so it’s all new to me.

I will be pre-ordering Life is Strange Double Exposure as well. Another franchise I really enjoy.
