If they sent the payroll to the bank yesterday (Tuesday) then wouldn’t the normal Bacs timings mean your wage will go in on Friday (available for you to take tomorrow, Thursday, at 4, and not today Wednesday)

Bacs works on a 3 day cycle - input, processing and entry. So if the file is sent to Bacs on Tuesday with a processing date of Wednesday, funds will be paid on Thursday. However, the payment file can be submitted up to 30 days in advance of the processing date. Some employers will time their salary runs so that they’re submitted a day or two in advance, to give them some leeway if there are problems with payroll software, Bacs connectivity etc.

i think people should stop being reliant on the paid early feature, because i always see a lot of post of people worrying about not being paid when their actual pay date hasn’t come yet, i think that feature is doing more harm than good, i know everyone do their banking differently the only time i’ve used that feature was when it launched just to see if it works and one time when i was on holiday but i don’t rely on it
