Agreed, most web apps i’ve encountered are But that’s still not to say it’s not possible I have a few on my phone that are relatively good but can still tell they are not native.
Worth pointing out, I’m not trying to say that Monzo should switch from native to web,I’m just saying that on the most part it would be possible to do so I like my monzo app as is
I don’t know, It would take a large amount of development work to build it. I’m not sure how many people would like it over want it. (If you get what I mean).
I’d like a full featured web version incase I lost my phone, but that’s purely for an IF situation. The thing I like about Monzo is that they give me everything i want in an easy to use way on my phone app. I don’t feel the need to use a website like I did with legacy banks. Also I’ve never lost a phone yet, so chances of me actually needing a web based version are quite slim.
it’s also worth noting there’s a large difference between a full featured web login and a fully featured progressive web app like I was talking about
A lot of people are saying ‘why?’ I can give you the perfect example. My phone was stolen… how am I supposed to manage my account until I buy a new smart phone? lol
Now that we are home on the Corona virus I am at my desktop PC more (working from home) and looking at my mobile less. I have used Monzo since beta and love having the app. I have moved my salary and all direct debits over. When I was just dicking about spending on Monzo daily, the app was great. Now as it is my main/only bank, having the ability to access account features away from a single app would be great. It’s not about having a list of transactions, its the ability to manage payments, pots etc. Please Please Please!
As much as i’d like a better web version of Monzo, I disagree here. It’s completely different technologies used for building for web therefore a completely different team and developers. Monzo would probably need to hire some more web developers to make a real go of building a real web platform experience to the standard they’d like.
Agreed! I love using Monzo in my Day2Day, as I am working self employed - easy to categorise expenses. Just trying to do my taxes though and I’d love to just go through my finances on a big screen.

It might be easier to do this if you download a csv file.
I think having some features in a desktop/web version for Monzo Business accounts would be really useful. Such as generating invoices, entering and saving client details, exporting statements, reports, invoices, scanned receipts etc to the desktop (and importing receipts to transactions would be nice but not essential). At the moment it is very laborious trying to copy a clients details from another app to Monzo, then checking all the info is right. This has to be done every time you generate an invoice as there is no way to currently save clients details.
Thanks @Ordog I just hope they can add more features and functionality that are easier to do on the web version, like Generating invoices, uploading our logo’s, copying and pasting details such as client details and reference/PO numbers, saving clients for future invoices, downloading invoices in PDF, uploading receipts in more formats (such as PDF) to expenses.
It’s early days for the web version, so I am hopeful more of this functionality comes in the future.
Yeah, I like the app and use it regularly, but these are for quick tasks (transferring money etc).
Although, when I want to do more detailed stuff (which is going to happen as I have transferred this to my main account), I want to be able to sit at a laptop and go through it. Then I’m more likely to use the stat information at a computer instead of phone.
Maybe that’s the old school part of me. But catering for both mobile and computer, would be beneficial. Potentially increase customers (not everyone has smart phones)
Is there still no fully featured web app? Any plans to that anyone knows of?
I’m out of the UK atm, so I haven’t been inclined to switch banks due to this, as I had intended. I’ve just been shopping around for the alternatives and I see that Starling now have a web app/site (though so far not for personal customer, only business), so it’ll probably be that:
