All the best for your future endeavours and stay safe out there
Thanks for the work you have put into this and, maybe as important, the interaction with the community on this topic. We always greatly appreciate that
@kavi all the best in your future endeavours!
Cant thank you enough like the others have said for continually keeping the community informed whenever you could!
Really does mean alot to us all on here
Thanks, Kavi. I hope thereâs not been too much anger on here and youâve found it useful to talk things over with the community. Always keen for feedback on what we could collectively do better though.
(And youâve always seemed familiar. Perhaps weâve met in a previous life?)
@kavi thanks for the update and good luck to the future.
All the best for the future!
Thank you. Take care. And all the best
Thanks for the hard work and great communication with us, Good luck with whatâs next!
@kavi Will be sorely missed & he was a hugely influential part of the Core app team
I wanted to give a quick update that favourite payees is now in Monzo labs for app version 3.68; This should be available on TestFlight / Beta by the end of the week I think!
Ooh this is amazing.
Seeing it in action, I wonder if thereâs any possibility of having favourites at account rather than contact level. I have two accounts in my name that I send money to frequently that would be excellent to get one tap access to!
Iâm not sure Iâm keen on the fact I have a bunch of payees that have been auto-set as favourites. Is that an expected thing?
@tbutz The decision we made was to migrate your old âFrequentâ list exactly as it is to your new âFavouritesâ list. This is to minimise the cost of introducing favourites for people who are already accustomed to tapping people in their frequent list. Is the reason youâre not keen because that list isnât reflective of your actual favourites?
Yes, itâs just thereâs at least one one-off payee appearing in there. They were recent, but not âfrequentâ (i.e. only one payment!). Itâs fine, I can live with it and de-favourite them, just wondered what was going on.
Edit: Just realised they had two payments. One was a test âto make sure it was the right accountâ followed by a proper payment. So frequent does make sense.
Just noticed that monzo contacts whom you havenât paid before, do not go it into the âallâ list, instead they are under monzo contacts. One stop short of deleting them if you wish, I think this is a good decision! As they now sit in a list right at the bottom, that I will never go to.
Thanks, yep we consciously wanted to move them out of your payees!
Great move! Will be glad to have favourites once TestFlight updated too.
Frequent has never quite worked for me - always been a bit too quick to add someone recent but not what Iâd considered frequent.
Apart from converting a monzo contact into a payee that Kavi shared, whatâs up next?
Also, something little but on the payment tab, thereâs to much writing under âpayâ and it gets hidden with an ellipsis. On an iPhone XS.
I do like the new Payees hub, but I also think hiding it behind the extra tap is a little strange.
In the Payments screen, will you be getting rid of the sections âFavouritesâ (horizontal scroll) and âRecentâ (vertical scroll)? - there really is no need for them at all now and would free up space on the Payments display.
And then if the Payee hub was displayed in its place (under âMove moneyâ), which is a vertical scroll anyway, everything needed would be on the Payments display and there would be no need for the extra tap on âPayeesâ
Thatâs what I thought. I think it should just be the payee hub as the âpaymentâ tab.
Payment tab â select contact â request money or select an account to pay. Solid payment flow. No duplicate lists
I have a slightly different question: whatâs the logic behind the recent list? I assumed it would be the last people you paid, but mine seem to be a bit random. Is there any science behind it?
