Can't add a new payee for international transfer - Monzo app crashes

Hello,

I need to transfer USD to my account in Dubai. I am following these steps:

  1. Payments → Transfer internationally → GBP / USD pair → Continue → Create payee
  2. At the “Create payee” form, I select “SWIFT” and fill in all needed account details
  3. I select “UAE” in the “Country” field
  4. When I click into the “City” field, the Monzo app crashes, and I get to the Home screen of my iPhone

I tried to delete and reinstall the Monzo app

I need your support, as I’m unsure how to send money through Monzo.

Did you restart the device in-between deleting and reinstalling? The restart step is crucial in fixing random issues.

Yes, I rebooted the phone several times, before and after I tried the reinstallation

Are you using the TestFlight version or the Apple App Store version?

Out of curiosity - if you select the target currency as AED (instead of USD), does the app still crash at the same point?

The path is different for GBP/AED - It asks to create a Wise account

Hi! Just came here to say both my partner and I have the same issue. The app crashes every time we try and enter the address details of the payee.
Both on his and my Monzo App, both iOS.

It is great to know this, as it indicates that unlikely it is a particular my account / my device problem.
In the meantime, I found a workaround. I am filling all address fields first but the “Country”, which I fill the last one. In this scenario the App adds the new payee with no issues

Are your devices set to use English (UK) language or other languages?

I too am having this issue. Even with the workaround suggested above of leaving the country selection blank until the end. Certainly a bug that needs fixing!

Hi! I just want to chime in here and mention that I have been trying to solve this for almost a week now. I have been speaking to customer service, trying to raise a ticket to get this fixed but I just keep getting passed to ‘specialists’. Has anyone had any positive solutions come there way?
