Have just tried to retrieve my pin from the iOS app (running the latest app, on the CA) and had a really poor user experience. App crashed, then when I reopened it asked me to re verify touch ID (which I had done a few days ago). Thankfully had an old text which had the pin, but this is a crucial part of the app, so wanted to flag

That doesn’t sound right I suggest you jump into a chat with COPs to let them know about this! You can also email them at help@monzo.com
In future, if you ever have an issue like this you can always email or start a chat and COPs will be able to reset your pin that way for you.
