The compiled list thus far has been a collaborative effort and is by no means exhaustive. If any apps are missing please slot them in alphabetically. US banking apps are currently omitted, but US Monzonauts (@Monzo_USA) should feel free to add them if they’re missing!

Great idea to post here (I think the Monzo Community is probably the most widely-visited out of all fintech communities, so it will reach a wider audience)!

My week hasn’t exactly gone to plan, as my MacBook Pro has developed a fault with the TouchBar. I know that’s way off topic, but I’m just bringing it up by way of explanation that I’m not fully up and running on Mac or iOS beta despite intending to be (I like to keep both on the beta if I’m using the beta on one, to avoid iCloud sync issues - and as such I haven’t yet updated my phone either).

I will see what can be done about fixing it and then hopefully join everyone on the betas next week.

In the meantime, others will have to update the list here if they notice anything.

Should we create another category in the OP with “investments apps”? Nutmeg is the first one that comes to mind that I just tested (it works btw)

If folks would rather splitting out savings and investment apps into their own section, I won’t oppose it. The list as it is began from an old template for iOS 14, so could probably be improved!

I was thinking of doing the same for credit cards too, as currently they’re bundled in with banking apps.

For now, I’ve added nutmeg to the money management apps, so thanks for letting me know! If you and others would rather split the lists up a bit more, then I can do that tomorrow when I have a bit more time, or someone else can do it if they’d like! I’d only ask we keep the lists alphabetised for easy finding and editing!

Yes, splitting it out now it’s getting quite long is probably a good idea.

The list started out when I was first running iOS 14 beta last year and initially I simply tested all the apps on my own phone without much rhyme or reason, putting the results in a list so people could see what was working.

I didn’t do investment apps as a separate section at the time as the only one I was personally using was Freetrade. I did split bank apps and “other” apps up, though, as I thought that was a good way of avoiding the main bank list becoming too cluttered. For want of a better title, I called that “money-management apps” (and put everything from Emma to Freetrade under it).

Since then the list has grown, so arguably further categorisation might be good.

I’m happy for everyone to do what they think is best! :slight_smile:

Lists like these really put into perspective just how many financial services there are in the UK! It’s quite staggering!

I may try to categorise them a bit better tomorrow, unless of course someone else wishes to take a crack at it in the meantime!

How would folks here prefer the apps be divided up?

I’ve just published a relatively large update to the wiki. Please offer any feedback, or feel free to move stuff if around if I’ve categorised them incorrectly, and add anything that’s missing.

I’ve split the various apps into a number of categories now and fledged out the list with a few more apps. I’ve populated the lists with some previously missing apps that are currently listed in the top 200 free apps on iOS.

This list is still not conclusive and is only currently relevant to the UK.

I’ve updated the wiki here to add in the results of @sebh’s extensive testing. We have almost all banking apps covered at this point with just a few exceptions.

If any one else here is using the betas and has access to or use any of the apps that still have a :question: please feel free to update the wiki, or post as a reply so someone else can update it!

Revolut Business appears to work (I’ve got an account that I’ve never used, so I’m limited in what I can test, but basic navigation, menus, etc appear to work). How do I update the wiki?

The iOS 15 Developer Beta 3 was released recently. The public beta should be soon. Can someone check if any of the apps have been broken? (my important app is HSBC, hopefully they fixed it)

As I understand it, it isn’t about the betas.

HSBC/First Direct have been broken every single year until full release because they check the OS version at launch and always report the betas as unsupported/unidentified versions. The rationale is to not let their apps work on hacked/jailbroken devices.

So on that basis, unless you see an HSBC update in the store, the beta version isn’t gonna change anything.
