Apple Pay not working

I can’t seem to get my monzo working with Apple Pay. It was always fine then I was abroad for 6 months and stopped working- I wasn’t really using contactless payments though so ignored it, I’m home now and tried to get it working again, deleting it, relinking etc. got a new monzo card, tried adding that one. It says it’s all set up correctly and can see the card in my apple wallet but if I try and use it monzo just declines the payment, so I feel like it’s an issue on the monzo side rather than how it’s been set up.

What’s the decline message in the app?

Apple Pay doesn’t work in that manner; you don’t need to activate the card.

Thanks for your help! The physical card is working fine. The message in the app when I try Apple Pay just says ‘declined’.

What’s the declined message in the monzo app?
