It looks like as part of this rollout thereās no longer an option to pay upfront for Apple Care+ for any devices? Itās not just a choice between two subscriptions, individual and Apple Care One?
Iām glad Iām on a legacy 3 years paid upfront on my M5 MBA.
Also getting my M5 MBA when I did was 100% the right choice, as thereās now a 3-4 week delay, on top of the Ā£200 price increase that wouldāve eaten the student discount.
If I remember well they used to give you 56-60 days after purchase of a Mac, iPhone or iPad to decide if you want to buy Apple Care+

Those are both subscriptions arenāt they, the top one being monthly or annual payments and the bottom the new plan. The āpay for three years upfrontā option has gone?
Yes, now only annual or monthly, and then the Apple care one.
Pretty good got my MacBook, iPhone and iPad all now for Ā£16.99.
Should get about Ā£80 refunds for what Iāve already paid.
Adding my AirPods is hardly worth it though:
I did see that if I added my AirPods it would refund me about Ā£24 but with Apple gift cards. I donāt know why.
For anyone with eligibility issues, when I clicked on this website:
And clicked āGet coverageā it said none were eligible.
I scrolled down to the AppleCare One specifically and clicked āGet coverageā and it let me.
If you have AppleCare already it will refund you what youāve paid.

I tried this, and it still ends up at this same screen saying I have no eligible devices.
It does appear that you need at least one currently eligible/subscribed main device to sign up from in the first place.
Normally Iād say itās a glitch, but Apple have had ages to get this right so Iād be surprised if theyād made such a fundamental screw up on launch dayā¦
It could be it, and it would make some sense or everyone with an old phone would effectively get a battery for Ā£16.99.

I did think that myself, but at some point Iāll be getting a new phone anyway, at which point Iāll be able to sign up my 2-3 year old MacBook Pro and Apple Watch.
All this is doing is delaying that until I get a new phone.
And Apple want that 
How old are your devices? I think it could be down to device age too. My iPad is iPad Air 5th Gen from 2023.
The watch is a series 9 and also doesnāt show if I go through the link above but is shown to be eligible if I do from my phone settings.

I just spoke to Apple, and they confirmed the following points:

You do indeed need at least one main device thatās either still within its initial 60 day AppleCare sign-up window, or have an existing plan. Main devices are defined as iPhone, MacBook or iPad.

As a user with zero currently qualifying devices, if I later buy a new main device, that can be used as an entry point to start the AppleCare One subscription and loop in all the other devices providing they are no more than 4 years old.
So for most people their next eligibility window will be whenever their next phone upgrade occurs.
