App Hold against payment made

Hello all, I used a Taxi app and appeared to pay plus tip added last night. This morning those payments are showing as 2 x App Hold and giving me options to pay in installments? Can anyone explain what’s happening here? Thanks

You paid by Flex (?) resulting in being given options to pay by instalments.

The taxi and the tip are effectively charged as two transactions separately unless you paid it upfront while placing your order/journey.

Looks normal to me.

Thanks for the quick response - my response is I DIDN’T use Flex - there is no recent activity on that card. On my December statement for my normal card it also shows these payments as App Hold, although both have been deducted??

The Taxi App used indicates a fare of £20.30 and a Tip of £5 - the App Hold Numbers don’t even match this breakdown? I’m presuming the Taxi company have been paid but I don’t like how Monzo have processed this payment/ Thanks

The app hold numbers till £25.30.

Holds usually stay on for 30 days with uber so worth checking on day 31 to be sure they have dropped off.

With the instalments it’s possibly informing you they are eligible to Flex (you don’t have to pay by your Flex card as Flex works in two ways - direct card payments, or pay by debit card and move it to Flex within 14 days).
