I definitely think itās important that the card in Monzo matches the card I see in Apple Pay and my wallet. And as a joint account user, having different colours for each card/account is def helpful too.
So yes has to be my first preference, but ovi no issue with being given the ability to choose.
For me, Iād really like to have the option for my external accounts (e.g. my credit card) to be included with the Monzo accounts at the top of the overview and the transactions merged in the latest activity section. Most of my spending is on my credit card but the new overview doesnāt really give me a way to see this activity easily.
Also, Iād like to be able to hide my joint account and flex account from the top of the lists. They are pretty much never used.
So for now, this is no more useful than the old carousel view.
I suppose itās down to us still calling it a card. I get that Google Pay and the physical card need to match but was wondering whether someone like @davidwalton (who has Premium but has a yellow card) should have the grey premium colour in the app.
Despite me liking the white metal card more than the sunshine yellow plastic one (although paying with Google pay with the sunshine yellow card selected as the payment method still notifies 'Ā£xxx at [Place] with Monzo metal card which is amusingā¦) - I think the in-app colours need to be the same as the current issued physical cards.
it would be better, when you clicked through to a connected account if the feed wasnāt at the top because I need to pull it all the way down to press the refresh button on the account. Hopefully in the future we wonāt have to manually refresh and it will happen automagically.
I havenāt used the new look enough yet to know the ins and outs. Generally I really like it, and the concept of trying to cleverly fit all those elements in one screen. But one thing that I do notice is the 3 recent transactions showing are perhaps the most useless thing about it. I do a lot of transfers between pots and external accounts, so that list is always populated with transfers which are not useful to me. It would be useful if I could exclude transfers (and other categories perhaps) to only see actual transactions there.
Other than that, great job releasing this before Christmas!
Oh no no no no no (think Mrs Doyle from Father Ted ).
I really dont like the new home page. Like I had quite the outloud adverse reaction to it, i actually surprised myself!
Much prefer the clean line of stacked boxes. This feels very busy & mix match of shapes & designs. Sometimes layout changes take some time to adjust to but this i just can see what I need to.
I need to come up with something more constructive, but my current thoughts are that itās awful (with apologies to all those whoāve put the work in). It just doesnāt work on a small screen as it is. Iām going to have to turn it back on at some point to jot down my thoughts but canāt bring myself to do it at the moment.
Itās definitely a fine balance for the team and either way they canāt please everyone for sure.
Donāt release it and folk complain, release it and people say itās too early.
I also eventually turned it off, for now. For me I liked how you could see at glance your money across accounts, pots and connected accounts.
I canāt do that now, and there are so many numbers in different locations I started to get lost.
For me I would hope for simplicity. What my balance is, whatās left of my budget and whatās in where.
Any more and that for me is superfluous. But others will of course want this. So where possible Iād hope the end result is configurable in that you can hide elements.
I also wonder if this version was ātoo earlyā for some - itās horrendous on iOS to the point of being unusable for me. The lag across sections is very noticeable.
That all said, thanks again Monzo for letting us test it out. Iām sure over time itās going to be amazing.
Quite like this new layout so far. Will keep using it for a bit before formulating my overall feedback. But first thing Iāve found myself missing is the list view of accounts and pots; this view lets you see all of your balances (accounts and pots) at a glance and I canāt seem to find this view in the new layout.
Iāve been watching this thread and using the new Overview and have to agree itās a great improvement and looking forward to seeing it improve over the next few months.
I do agree that āLatest activityā needs some work in terms of maybe separating upcoming payments or movements between pots perhaps.
Not sure if itās been reported - but right now if you select āSee allā for transactions, click on one, going back takes you back to the Overview screen, would much prefer it returned to where you were in the list.
Not sure if Iām making this up, but (as of opening the app this morning) the latest activity and the feed show āPersonalā under the name of every transaction, which I donāt think was the case earlier in the week.
Assuming this would be replicated accordingly for each account that shows up in the feed, and think it looks quite neat as implemented.
Yes this appears to be a bug - this happens for me too. If you click into the account at the top, and it takes you to the old card UI then this wonāt happen.
