The new layout is really smart, definitely a welcome refresh of the UI with a tonne of potential. A few tweaks needed here and there but overall it is brilliant. Well done to all involved and thank you for your hard work
This doesnât just apply to the new layout, but surely there is a way by now to know who is âfull Monzoâ so that âswitch to Monzoâ can be switched off as a menu option for those people?
My main feedback is that there is just too much of a push to sell things.
I get this is part of a wider strategy to become protitable but thereâs just too much pushed on the user - no I donât want flex, no I donât want a loan, why is it taking up so much real estate on the main page.
If lending promotions are switched off in the app, these shouldnât be pushed on the Home Screen in my opinion.
Can I just give a massive shout out to @rknightuk again for the pots image generator. The style of the pot images works really well with this new screen.
OK. Turned it back on. Donât hate it. Not keen on the visuals but that may just be that itâs very different. But there are definitely some bits that just donât work for me.
Recent activity shows personal and joint account activity together. Absolutely donât want to see that, unless itâs an option I can switch on and off (like viewing calendars side by side in Outlook then overlaying them).
Theyâre separate accounts. Keep them separate. Or give an option to see âeverythingâ in which case include transactions from connected accounts.
Recent activity also includes upcoming activity. So if I have three upcoming DDs, it shows me the future, not the recent past. Recent is recent. Future is future.
Pots show as ÂŁx total. But that is the sum of ÂŁy in my personal pots and ÂŁz in our joint pots. Theyâre separate accounts, for separate purposes, and half of ÂŁz is hers not mine. Same comment as above - please keep them separate unless I choose to combine them.
Please - stack the pots vertically. Scrolling horizontally through the 25 pots across personal and joint just isnât working for me.
Iâll post more as and when I find my way around!
Edited for clarification.
Edit 2. OK, what I thought was âRecent activityâ is actually labelled âLatest activityâ. So I suppose you could argue that receiving notification of an upcoming payment counts. But it still seems out of place to me.
Iâm interested in my joint account - but apart from money going in at the start of the month and going into bill pots or savings pots, I just need to check that we donât hit ÂŁ0 when spending whatâs left - supermarket food shop, petrol, cleaners and window cleaner. Especially as Monzo donât provide joint account overdrafts.
But 90% or more of our pots balance is also in the joint account and I also donât need to see that every day - and it isnât âmineâ.
Total overall balance for an account is also missing (or I canât find it).
Previously if I pulled down, the total balance of account and pots was shown. Now the account balance (without pots) is shown, and the pots balance (a misleading one across personal accounts as it includes joint pots too).
But on a more practical level, for my business account, my accounting software shows my total balance, as it doesnât recognise pots (which is fine as theyâre not separate accounts).
But now I canât compare my Xero balance easily with my business account balance - because now when I look in Monzo I have to add together the account balance and the pots balance.
Remove âMove moneyâ (see later post re business accounts and moving money).
Remove the word âBalanceâ (as itâs fairly obvious thatâs the balance). Replace it with âIncluding pots:â and below that the total balance including pots in the same small size font.
