Good spot!
Thatās a potential place for the entry point for Plus and Premium - we havenāt built that yet!

Well Iām a big fan of the icon, can we get that now? Hahahaha /jk
I knew there was something behind that - no-oneās screenshots have ever shown that icon
Now onto the 2 blanked out account types in the planned ā Edit section orderā display: I strongly suspect @Carlo1460 nailed this one, back in post # 827 - but it is the 2 separate account types, not a combined single entry for investment/pension. So one blanked out line for Pensions and one blanked out line for Investements
Always watching
One thing Iād love to see added to the home for plus/premium subscribers is the credit score
These customisations look great and will make the experience even better. Great work. Looking forward to Investments
Maybe even a manual net worth area, enter all your savings accounts and rates, and let monzo do the math.
Something @Peter_G wouldāve loved (and hopefully might still do)
ā¦and the ISA
Lovely to see monzo responding to user feedback on the new design. The changes look great, looking forward to seeing them.
After being forced into the new layout, Iām perplexed as to how this was allowed to go live when it appears to me to be so underdeveloped. Itās still got a confusing mix of old and new layout which makes some user journeys very confusing. I want to like it and I think it has potential, but it has some glaring issues that Iām shocked were not picked up.
Firstly, why are there now (at least) three different ways to view pots, all of which show different levels of information and have different functionality? Itās confusing from a user journey. They are:
So you canāt see an overview of all your pots (including progress towards goal) in one place.
Also, in the pots summary, it groups all individual and joint pots into one section (with a combined total). I have two separate accounts for a reason, I want to see them separately. If I wanted it all bundled together, I would just use one account. Why are they bundled together?
In trends, when selecting which pots to include. it doesnāt tell you which ones are personal and which are joint, making them impossible to tell apart if you have pots of the same name in both accounts.
There is still no ability to add a note or tag when youāre depositing to a pot, you have to go into the feed, find the transaction, tap to open, tap to add a note, type the note, then come back out. And do that again if youāre transferring between Monzo accounts. This should work exactly like adding a reference to a regular bank transfer (which has been basic functionality for I donāt even know how long).
When adding money to a pot from the old view, once you press done, it then kicks you out into the new view, which forces you to scroll to see your goal so actually shows less information at a glance and is confusing that youāre now in a different place in the app for no reason.
Your main card and joint card blend into each other at the top because theyāre the same colour with no boundary or distinction between them. The tiny āJointā on the card is nowhere near enough to easily distinguish them at a glance, making it much harder to see at a glance.
The activity thread gives no option to separate out individual and joint transactions. They are two completely separate bank accounts that I use for completely separate things. I want to be able to see them separately! If I wanted everything in one place, Iād just use one account.
ā¦other than that, I love it.
The new home screen is
I woke up to it this morning and itās probably one of the worst things Iāve woken up to apart from the remnants of a kebab stuck to my face.
Why would anyone want to see transactions from two completely separate accounts (personal and joint) in one feed? Theyāre two separate accounts for a reason. Imagine if WhatsApp thought it was a good idea to combine all of your chats into a single chat.
Was this feature rolled out in the Monzo US app first as I can see lots of US customers saying they hate it.
Judging by the previous posts Iām going to be controversial but I like it. Multiple incoming credits on same day all grouped together with aggregated totals.Everything on view without being overcrowded.
Each to their own opinion of course but thatās mine.
100% on this. Doesnāt make a difference which email it was sent to, as long as it falls into the main overall email inbox.
Edit:
Can see how some may need independent finances though, for tracking.
Not sure I personally have a need to track emails in any form.
You say tomato I say tomato etc!
First thing I disable with a mail client!
Iām genuinely curious, is there a specific reason behind this update? Iāve already provided feedback through the app, but if the intention was to simplify financial management, it appears to be having the opposite effect for me. While I, as a young and tech-savvy individual, can navigate the changes somewhat, itās clear that this update is making the app less appealing for my older family members in their 50s and 60s. So, back to my initial question, was something broken that necessitated these confusing changes?
Additionally, is there a way to filter and view pots from a particular account exclusively, like before? For instance, can I see only my personal pots and exclude joint ones? It seems that the current interface only allows for rearranging pots, which, personally, is making it more challenging for me to effectively manage my finances.
@AlanDoe @cookywook can this be merged?
There have been some posts from Monzo staff with some information on rationale. For example, here and here.
If their process is anything like the workshops I was involved in over the decades, I get a vision of a large wall space and gazillion post-it notes, descending into something a lot more concise, to which they believed still represented the thoughts of the many.
Or maybe not. It is FinTech after all, not FinPaper
