App Evolution (new look Monzo app): Feedback Megathread šŸ“£

This could be an issue with scheduled withdrawals from savings pots as well as a potential bug with the new home view: I have 2 withdrawals scheduled from savings pots due to leave the pots tomorrow. The home page is showing them as arriving in my personal account tomorrow.

This is incorrect as savings pots withdrawals are next working day before they arrive.

And occasionally they show as pending deposits twice. This happened for the last 2 months. Once the date of withdrawal comes, the deposit starts to show up int he Home Screen feed on the actual day it will arrive but still sometimes shows on the day of withdrawal also.

ā€˜Personal Balance’ in the Spotlight tab gives this.

Edit: as does Joint Balance for your Joint account

This also lists your pots although stupidly you can’t click thru to them from this view.

Thanks for reporting this bug - I’ve sent it to the relevant team to look at

Another thumbs down on the new Home Screen. Please bring back the old.

Just noticed that. Love it

Good spot. Just had a look and I got it too! And clicking on said transaction takes me straight to managing that Flexed transaction too. Super super happy!!
The new UI is slowly improving!

I just ā€œunpinnedā€ my Flex account so that it sits with my NatWest account (in ā€œAccountsā€ section at the bottom). Rebooted the app and the Flex transactions are still in the Unified feed, but NatWest ones aren’t.

Ideally, if i’ve ā€œunpinnedā€ an account, it shouldn’t be showing in the Unified feed. At the same time, I should be able to pin my NatWest account, which would then show all transactions from that in the Unified feed too.

I was thinking this would be the case, same for when we can pin external accounts to the top would it show in the feed.

Unified feed should be everything regardless of whether pinned or not. My view anyways

If the unpinned accounts were near the top (maybe under the pinned accounts), I would agree with you. But since the unpinned accounts are at the bottom of the screen, it doesn’t make sense for them to be included in the Unified feed at the top. In my opinion anyway.

I completely agree that you should be able to pin additional external accounts, and get a card for them like your Monzo accounts.

However, I think that the unified feed should be entirely independant, but allow you to select which accounts have their transactions listed, including both Monzo and external accounts, but ignoring any combination of them that you want.

Ooh most definitely not. I want to be able to see everything, but when it comes to reporting I only want certain accounts reported.

Maybe a toggle to decide what to include in the feed, but I don’t think moving an account from pinned to unpinned should be the way, else you never get a single feed with all your account info visible

Wish I had this!

I get that some people want to see everything, I just want to see a total and I’m not overly bothered about that really.

If it gets put in to my feed, I’ll just disconnect it.

Does the correct amount show on the top shaded feed item?

If you’re happy with me taking a look could you DM me your account email

Thanks and yes that seems like a bug. Would you be able to DM me your account email if you’re happy with us checking it out further please?

I don’t even seem to have an upcoming spotlight item to enable, unless I’m missing something.

Overall, I can’t say I’m a fan of this.

Pots are one of my most used features in the app, and it feels like they’ve been demoted to a second-class feature with this new home screen. They’ve been squished into a carousel which feels cramped, and less accessible. I have to scroll a lot further just to see a pot balance. Not to mention horizontal scrolls are an accessibility nightmare on phones. And now all of the pot balances are super tiny and difficult to read at a glance. It’s harder to compare balances between accounts/pots now, as there’s no way to have all of that information on the screen at any given time. You have to swipe back and forth way more than before.

Also, Why can I no longer swipe down to see a list of my accounts/pots? That was probably my most used gesture!

Edit: OK, I found the Pots ā€œView as listā€ option. That alleviates most of my concerns surrounding pot accessibility. It’s still a faff comparing pot and account balances.
