They mean a community account, not a Monzo account
Ah, not sure that was clear!
I asked this same question of AmieL originally but didnāt get a response, my Barclays app is hideous, so was Natwest when I used to use it. I donāt understand which bank is offering a substantially more incredible UI experience. And if there is one, itād be great to see some screenshots.
Also for what itās worth my partner got bumped onto the new UI and she likes it, sheās not passionate either way and I donāt think sheās even really taken much notice apart from to say it looks nicer.
Clear enough - theyād already said that the five of them had Monzo accounts.
And
To me, reads as they only just opened their monzo account to review it.
So no, not clearly enough, maybe to you, but not everyone the way it was worded.
Your position in this thread seems to be that Monzo have done it, so it must be right, so thatās the end of the discussionā¦
Have you forgotten about your swag? Monzo donāt always get things right.
By all means, stick up for the design changes, articulate why it makes sense or why you like it, but this, āoh but Monzo do market research so this is definitely a good designā is tiresome.
Which isnāt what Iāve ever said.
But people joining, ranting about how they hate it, and think Monzo only listen to the forum, isnāt whatās happening, thatās what Iāve said. If the majority hated it, they wouldnāt be doing it.
No design will ever get everyone to agree.
Not necessarily.
I have seen decision-makers push through UI/UX changes just because they liked them, regardless of what everyone else told them.
One case was Signal, where they inverted chat bubble colours regardless of the huge backlash in their forum. Signal doesnāt collect usage data in any other way, the forum is pretty much the only feedback tool they have (other than the support email), and despite everyone telling them it was wrong and picking the lead devās arguments fully apart (to be fair I think he was just trying to justify the decision-makerās decisions), they pushed through anyway.
I have also worked with a person who did the same on the company website, he had multiple employees advise on best practice but sometimes he would go against it (and create really awkward user flows) just because he thought it was best.
There are many stubborn decision-makers out there.
Apologies for not reading all 1600+ posts before asking my question, but does anyone know how to make it so I donāt see my joint account activity on the feed?
This new layout is making tracking my personal finances difficult now all the joint account activity is showing up too, so Iād like to hide it
Hi @joleslie & welcome
Unfortunately, at this time, you canāt select specific accounts to show or be hidden in the Activity section or the full Activity list (if you tap on āSee allā)
The workaround is to tap on the individual Personal & Joint account cards to see the transaction feeds for just the specific account you want to see and work things out from there.
I really think Monzo should re-look at the card shuffle at the top of the home page. IMO there are 2 things that need to be considered.
A number of customers have come on here not realising that clicking the card would load the individual card / transaction view. My partner had no idea until I showed her.
The card shuffle. Tapping underlying cards to reveal them and then having to click again to see transactions is less useful than tapping once and going direct to the combined card / transaction view.
Itās probably someoneās pride and joy, but to me it could do with a little more tweakingā¦
Any professional should never get too attached to their work in this way.
Constructive criticism should always be welcomed, evaluated and if that makes what youāve produced better then itās an added bonus for all the time and effort youāve already invested into it.
I do think itād be great to be able to customise the feed on a range of seeing all transactions to picking specific accounts, the same as how you can do for certain spotlights. I want all transactions, even third party, but can see how this doesnāt suit everybody.
Thanks for getting back to me. Shame itās not an option, but itās good to know thereās a workaround (even though it wasnāt obvious to me and itāll take an extra tap⦠better than having to see everything mashed together!)
Hi, Iāve come to add my two pennies worth. The layout I can loosely live with as Iāll get used to it, but who did the Testing on it because they need sacking?! Itās so buggy and generally doesnāt work well for the end user. Given thatās one of the biggest selling points Monzo has, itās extremely disappointing.
If you can leave a list of the bugs on here that you would like monzo to address Iām sure they will be gratefulā¦
I hate it but I havenāt seen any bugs. What doesnāt work correctly?
My partner has recently signed up to a personal account so we could utilise a joint account. But, thereās no option in labs to use the new layout. The new layout is better than the old one, even if it does still need some work.
So why arenāt new customers getting access to the new layout?
I thought new customers were getting the new layout by default now?
Has the rollout been paused?
