App Evolution (new look Monzo app): Feedback Megathread šŸ“£

Are there any updates on the development of more features, customisable feed layouts, unified feed, third party accounts pinned to the top? It seems like things have gone very quiet over the last month since the roll-out to all new customers. It felt like we were moving quite quickly with changes and updates every week and now that the second stage of roll-out has been done, we’ve grinded to a halt, publicly at least? I’m hoping it just means all the big features are coming at once?!

In addition to that, does anyone know if the rest of the app is going to have a visual overhaul, the Home Screen is looking great but sections like payments etc are still the old interface, any news on if these will be updated?

Yeah, I could really do with virtual cards transactions linked to pots appearing in ā€˜Activity’ (and Flex as well but it’s easier to keep track of that)

Is this new? Upcoming debits with a black/dark background and upcoming credits with a green/light background?

There’s no background on Android (for me at least). And my future salary payment doesn’t look shaded at all.

Also: the lack of apostrophe on that credit is killing me.

I always thought credits is correct :face_with_peeking_eye:

I noticed this with upcoming credits yesterday. On the activity feed they’re bright green. Click into the detail and they’re dark green.

I never noticed that.

Thanks… :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I’m in dark mode so all background the same :man_shrugging:

It’s particularly noticeable when it’s just one upcoming payment. It’s only the small ā€œin X days timeā€ that differentiates now.

Top is an upcoming transaction, bottom is a historic one. No difference!

I’ve never had it before so I’m guessing it’s new!

It’s only on the activity section on the new homepage. If I click into the account or all activity it doesn’t have it.

Good luck asking for that. Monzo gave up on regular updates to the community a long time ago.

A little disingenuous I feel. They’ve been very active. Albeit it has dropped as more people start to use the UI, but it’s probably because they don’t have much to say other than ā€œno real update this weekā€

It’s a trend. He seems to ignore the actual updates.

Now go back through the timeline and check when monzo staff give updates, on any part of their product.

They always ā€œintroduce the teamā€ with little paragraph from the staff, then nothing.

It is what it is. It’s not like the early days which is a shame. Don’t pretend that it is.

There’s plenty going on the background :eyes: - just not dog-fooded/released yet.

Interesting thanks for sharing! Reading these things isn’t my speciality but it seems unified feed is a given at this point as it’s mentioned a few times, but I can’t see anything referencing pinning third party accounts or customising layouts?

I’m not expert, but I think the approach they’ve taken with the new home screen means they can probably do most, if not all, of those from the backend.

Now THAT would be interesting! Translucent design is making a comeback, Beats Studio did it recently, the nothing phone … Monzo next

I had some changes to pots in the past couple of days. Anyone else?

Seems a bit buggy at the moment. For the past couple of days I was noticing things like old screens loading for a second then being replaced by new ones, and sometimes having to go back/close things twice. Now, today, I’ve managed to create an infinite loop by adding some money to a pot. When I close the pot it takes me back to the ā€œconfirmationā€ page showing my transfer was done, and then back to the pot screen and repeat. I eventually got out by using back from the pot screen several times in a row.

I do like the new add money screen though. I hope all fields where you type an amount work as smoothly as this in the future!
