App Evolution (new look Monzo app): Feedback Megathread šŸ“£

This is really annoying for me too. Only way I have found is to use the balance highlight and include everything. But you can only do that for either personal or joint, not both.

It would be so easy to show this on the account ā€œcardā€ (or whatever it’s meant to be).

When I turned it on, it made changes to how I had it, the dragging didn’t seem to work to put one at the top or second, can’t remember now, but try it the other way and that worked for me.

I been using the new layout for a while and am getting used to it. The only thing that I would have liked is that my credit card (from another bank) be shown at the top with my personal account and included in my activity feed as that is where many of my day-to-day spending is done.

However because it’s not, I’ve just opened a flex account and the flex card does appear at the top. But the transaction I’ve just made isn’t appearing in my activity feed either which is confusing. The card is showing a -ve balance now and going tot he card details shows the transaction but not the ā€˜combined’ activity feed.

Is this a bug or intended?

That’s intended. If you tap on the Flex card, it’s in there.

I’d prefer it all in one place, especially as whenever I need to pick a plan, I always expect it to be there.

Thanks. Then the flex card isn’t really any better than my other credit card. The activity feed should be combined from all cards shown above it (to make it obvious) and from a usefulness point of view, I want. combined feed of me recent day-to-day spending which includes all cards/current accounts.

Please can we turn unified feed back on, the fact I can’t see my third party transactions makes it so confusing and at the moment paying to have third party accounts even less worth it since the balances aren’t all at the top together either.

Also I feel like we had it before but why does my left to spend not let me include third party accounts?

I’ve also noticed this week that if you click into a recurring payment it’s starts asking you the questions of is it recurring, and how often. This is fine but there’s no way to cancel it without answering the questions unless you quit the whole app.

Would be great to have the expanded transaction screen have filtering options at the top. So to include/exclude main, flex, pots and connected accounts.
You would then have a real experience where you wouldn’t have to switch between flex and the connected accounts to have a full picture.

Banging my drum again. Any update on this? Still experiencing this issue and it keeps forcing me to stop using the new layout unfortunately. @emmag

Is there any chance this will be made to work for me or should I give up hope?

Oh no! That old bug has returned when viewing transactions in the ā€œSee allā€ activity tray. When you swipe or press back, the nav bar has a bit of a freak out.

So I’m back with the new app layout turned on in Monzo labs. The notification about the new layout prompted me to give it another go. For me this version is so good that I’ve kept the new UI on which for me is a very good sign as in the previous iteration I tried to keep it turned on, but in the end I couldn’t use for more than short bursts due to it missing some crucial features and being a bit too buggy at that stage.

My thoughts now:

Spotlight - love this feature! This feels like Mission Control for certain aspects of my finances, I’ve turned all available insights on. Terrific job team! Any chance of giving users the option to pin this to the top to make it visible at all times, not just when swiping down to reveal?

Cards/accounts - still not sure about the behaviour. When I tap to expand and see my Flex account behind my main account I except to tap again to hide, not be taken into the account. It could just be me! Maybe an option to ā€˜view’ would be preferable? Sitting alongside the other calls to action such as ā€˜pay now’ and card’.

Activity - viewing the last 4 transactions is useful at a glance, but I’m itching to have buttons or options to tap between viewing transactions from today / yesterday, this week, this month. It would be incredibly handy surfacing this in the main account feed too, as currently trying to view transactions by date is hidden in the search menu.

Pots - I’ve had to change this to list, which is good as it shows how flexible the new UI is to customers’ preferences. I like how the value for the visible pots is shown, but I would really really like to see the total value for all pots. I like to know the value of all of my pots as I can tell if I’m on track across all of them.

Now I know that if a savings goal is set for a pot this is viewable in image view, but it would be great to pin an individual pot you want to focus on, up in spotlight.

Terrific job devs, I can’t wait to see what you do next!

Seconded.

But, speaking of which, it feels like a while since we’ve had any updates :eyes:

Have turned on the new format again. Think I might leave it on, some of annoying glitches such as clicking on cards at the top not leading to transaction list screens seemed to have been resolved now.

In the other accounts section I have 4 credit cards connected, all with nil balance. Would be possible to show a total for ā€œ4 connected accountsā€ where these all have nil balances on one line. Perhaps clicking on this would then expand to show the individual accounts with nil balances?

I know accounts can be individually hidden, but I’d like the ability for an account to show individually when it has a positive/negative balance to keep track on any credit card payments I need to make, whilst being able to consolidate nil balance accounts, at least initially.

I know I am going to have to get used to it but I am still not enjoying the new version.

Is this a recent change or am I just noticing it now?

The Premium card is looking less white/grey and more the washed out light green from the background (?)

Looks white to me?

Probably just me tbh. :eyes:

If you zoom in and crop onto the card only it looks white.
I’m guessing a bit of an optical illusion with the green background?

When I go to edit the Home Screen it lists accounts, followed by pots. But on the screen itself pots are shown above accounts.

Will there be a way to move these sections around? I would rather see accounts before pots personally (especially as I normally end up with all pots hidden).

Update: definitely green. Look at that contrast with the white boxes above and below:
