App Evolution (new look Monzo app): Feedback Megathread šŸ“£

It’s an early version they’re looking for feedback on. So I’m providing feedback.

No reason a vertical stack should be messy. And it would be more useable.

We disagree, obviously. But my opinion is equally valid.

If we could add notes and multiple goals to a pot (with a tweaked salary sorter for assigning portions of pot transfers to the different goals) I’d almost agree but I’d still like to have 3 pots

At no point did I say your opinion wasn’t valid.

We can disagree without getting quite so dramatic.

I wasn’t being dramatic. That was your interpretation. Maybe I also misinterpreted your previous post. Let’s leave it there.

So I turned off the new overview and this happened. I’m assuming it’s either intended behaviour in that things are moving across or a bug.

Either way I love it. Nice and simple and shows me at a glance what my moneys doing.

Please consider an option for modular simplicity when you roll it out. For users who don’t use pots the overview is super messy.

You turned off the new overview and this happened? I’m confused (OK, that happens a lot). What happened? That is the new overview isn’t it?

No it’s like somehow I’ve ended up somewhere between the two. I have no idea how! It’s the old overview only with the new banner and user icon at the top.

Ah, I think that’s a thing. My wife hasn’t tried the new layout, and she commented on this yesterday evening. I think some bits like the upgrade button and the personal/business switch are already rolling out.

Educated guess time: there’s been a flag in the app for a condensed home screen, which I think has been in staff testing. Maybe it’s that?

(My assumption was that it had been superceded by Overview but you never know).

One thing I actually miss from the old UI is the ability to easily see a total for the whole amount in my personal or joint account (including pots). On the old home screen you can pull down to the overview and see your card + pots grouped as one with a total at the top.

On the new design you can see how much is in your main balance, and then separately below that you can see your individual pots across all accounts, but there’s no easily accessible total that I can see anywhere.

Yes, for me too this is the reason I’ve disabled the New UI.

A few people have mentioned this. A biggie for me too. And so easy to fix, so hopefully they will do.

I’d like this figure back to but the ability remove whats in hidden pots from it. If i hide pots, i want it out the way and forgotten about

Correct! It started rolling out earlier this week.

I’ve just had a sneaky look. Much better than the previous version (but is crying out for some form of balance at the top) - but my heart is with the new layout. :hot_coral_heart:

Actually quite like this, much better than the previous Home Screen. It also appears there is some sort of modular options - for example in the ā€œthings you can do with Monzoā€ it came up with a cancelable card for adding to Apple Pay which was super nice.

I love the ability to change certain elements, hoping this is the intent for the new UI over time, for those strange folk like me who dont use Pots etc

After my initial gut response I went back, turned it on & have tried to live with it for a while.

Its still a hard pass for me & a nightmare for any neurodiverse person.

I echo alot of what others have said, great idea but not that well executed for the masses IML.

Why does the flex account need to sit above me actual account? (Option to hide this?)

The carousel for pots is very hard to use & i miss the stacked easy overview option.

Too much focus on selling or promoting. I dont have other accounts to link, stop pressuring me to add them. I have plus i dont want premium, leave me be. And i dont think its healthy to encourage people to borrow & this feels very prominent in the layout.(as with the current layout & the blue pill ā€œget monzo premiumā€ā€¦ just leave me be!).

This one is likely just me, but i dont need the latest activity. I am very happy with the current ā€œleft to spendā€ info at the top & then clicking into the pot or account for more info.

My dyslexic brain wants clear, stacking easy to absorb info. This is really messy & stressful.

I’ve turned it back on for the same reason as you, this is the way is going, so I need to get used to it.

I’m not a huge fan so far but this is very early, as things progress and it’s more customisable, hopefully you/I’ll find it better and more use.

I do miss a vertical list of pots for one thing

Ditto. I’ve gone back to the old system. Using pots in the new system is very fustrating.

Why can’t POTS just be a button or selection that then opens vertical list as before?
