Anyone else experiencing issues with PayPal transfers?

I’ve been transferring money from PayPal to my Monzo account for months, but now suddenly PayPal says Monzo is not eligible for transfers.
Monzo support doesn’t seem to know about any change in circumstances with PayPal. PayPal support is extremely slow to respond.
Has anyone else encountered this issue or has it now? I just want to know if it’s a temporary error or if I am gonna need a new bank account/payment system.

No issues here.

If you’ve been doing it for months, and regularly, be mindful that you don’t cross the threshold and into business use.

Same thing here, I’ve just run into this issue starting last week. I used to be able to instant transfer from PayPal to Monzo, and just today noticed I can’t even transfer to Monzo at all anymore. No notifications from PayPal or Monzo to say there are any issues anywhere either. Also hoping I don’t need a new bank account.

i’ve found the issue after contacting paypal and monzo for me the issue was because my address on my paypal account didnt match the cards so i just changed the address re added the card and i was good to go hope this helps

Finally got it working. I also had a wrong postcode entered, but linking my Monzo as a bank account rather than just the card solved the problem. Still don’t know if the card aspect will work or not, but since it all goes to the same place it doesn’t matter much.

Hi, thanks for flagging this up. I have the same problem. Monzo has been dropped by PayPal from their list of supported banks. Strangely, Monzo doesn’t acknowledge that there has been change. It’s frustrating.

Where is their list of supported banks?

I’ve just gone into the app to add a new bank, and Monzo are still listed in there. I’d have taken a screenshot but they’re restricted

Monzo still available to add as a new bank in PayPal (and my existing Monzo accounts are still linked to my existing PayPal account OK) - but also can’t do the screenshot thingy

Same. Like @davidwalton I’m able to add my bank account through Link, but it doesn’t let me transfer out of my account. Could it be something to do with the direct debit not being set up yet? Does that take a little while?

I had to create a PayPal account today to get a payout from Google Opinion Rewards, I didn’t try Monzo but Starling wasn’t on their list of supported banks. Managed to link my Revolut account and instantly transfer the money out though

Seems to be a general problem affecting several people. Several Reddit posts have popped up recently about this.

Frustratingly, I’m having the same issues today had no issues the past two months in transferring at last today Paypal informs when I’m trying to undertake this that certain banks and card issuers don’t support transfers

Seems to be the error everyone is getting. You probably just have to wait for Paypal to sort themselves.

This isn’t a monzo problem it’s a PayPal problem.
