Discorse needs a button where you can ban yourself for a number of days , we’re all addicted and we don’t even realise😂
Where did that Revolut thread go?
It got delisted since the Revolut staff can’t respond to fraud claims on our forums probably
From what I hear prepaid cards traditionally have a higher rate of fraud for various reasons. I imagine there may have been some clinging on since the pre paid beta ended.
Similar for Revolut’s pre paid card I imagine.
True, I was surprised there wasn’t more posts about “why can’t I use my card!” on forums when the prepaid beta first ended tbh
Same! Although Monzo did hammer the stragglers with emails in the last week!
I think I came across one maybe two tweets to Monzo from people asking when their prepaid money would be returned as they didn’t want to upgrade.
Thinking about it I did see one user complain they wanted to upgrade after it closed talk about last min…
Eh, I can see the reasons why they get closed/locked. But… I feel like Leaders, Moderators and Staff should have a boilerplate response when locking that states why and that they will be in contact.
I guess you could claim ‘Monzo Leaders and Staff shutting down potentially reputation-damaging threads’ is what’s happening, but i don’t think it’s malicious - more an attempt to stop bad advice, the spread of misinformation and that these are often complex issues that the community forum is not meant for.
The downside is that it looks like ‘censorship’. Yes, Monzo should potentially be providing better communication in these scenarios but they’re often complex and personal/ security related.
To be clear, Leaders aren’t doing anything to deal with these topics, other than flagging them if they believe they need the team’s attention, which has exactly the same effect as any other member of the community using flags.
The team do post a reply explaining what they’ve done when they close these topics.
And they leave the posts visible (something that I support) to avoid giving the impression of anything less than 100% transparency.
I believe that this post provides a pretty good explanation of why these topics are handled in the way that they are.
This should not happen; Leaders need to find another way to bring things into Staff attention. Flagging is not the way to deal with this.
I’m not sure exactly what you’re saying shouldn’t happen?
It’s self explanatory and if you don’t understand don’t bother
It more sense now that you’ve edited the post to add this comment
Right now this is the way that the team’s asked us to bring these posts to their attention.
I think he’s saying that these posts should not be flagged as that can lead to them being hidden, which can give people the impression that these posts are censored intentionally. Rather, there should be another way to bring them to the team’s attention.
Thanks, I believe I’ve already addressed that here -
You can flag one post or 2 - Seems like you are leaders are flagging every single post that person has made
This is what shutting down is -
I’m sorry that you’ve got that impression but if you take a second look, you’ll see that only specific posts are being flagged - & they all share similar characteristics, they’re not just complaints about Monzo.
It’s not just Leaders who may be flagging these posts either, by the way.
As I’ve mentioned repeatedly, the team will review these posts & then usually unhide them.
I think flagging once does not hide and delists posts so there are multiple flags being done on every single post they have made.
You keep referring to KYC and AML posts but those are not applicable until user has actually start to discuss these things - In the thread we are talking about, user has not gone into anything like that
No I’m not:
Correct.
So…
