AirPods Pro šŸŽ

Gen 1 for life!

Until they give up on me and I am forced to get a shiny new pair of pro ones :star_struck:

I got mine yesterday.

Having not owned in ear or noise cancelling ear phones I wasnā€™t sure what to expect.

If Iā€™m honest Iā€™m not loving them, it might just be my ears though. I have normal AirPods and never had an issue.

The pro just donā€™t feel very comfortable in my left ear the right seems fine and I using the small tips so canā€™t go smaller.

Plus I think they give me a very slight dull head ache.

Technically theyā€™re very good and the noise cancelling works well etc

I just think for me personally they donā€™t quite fit, Iā€™m going to give it a few more days and see how it goes but I may return mine.

These look like a decent upgrade for the gym, but not so much for home use on Skype calls where the regular AirPods are easy enough to chuck in the ear and still have background noise.

Is the ā€˜tip testā€™ suggesting the small ones? Maybe a different size in each ear would help? Iā€™ve had ā€˜rubber tipsā€™ before and it took me a while to figure out and, weirdly, the bigger size ended up being better (which wasnā€™t what i thought at all).

I donā€™t have any comfort issues with the current AirPods too, this is the only area Iā€™m wary of for the new ones.

Iā€™ve never got on so well with the ā€˜budsā€™ rather than just a solid earphone, hence why the first gen airpods work great for me, as they were just the original apple earphones minus the wires.

Iā€™d definitely like to try them out though

Whatā€™s the policy on returning a product like this? Surely thereā€™s some sort of hygiene issue?

As long as itā€™s just the tip it doesnā€™t count :joy:

(Iā€™m sure itā€™s usual returns with Apple directly)

It doesnā€™t suggest the size, it just says if the seal is good and if it isnā€™t it just says something like adjust the earphone or try a different tip.

Iā€™ll try it but I think the bigger ones may be too big.

Usual 14 day return applies Iā€™d imagine.

I think itā€™s time to mute this thread before I accidentally purchase a pair.

Apple still have a no quibble returns policy right?!

Correct.

Well it would rude not to try them out then wouldnā€™t it.

Right???

Youā€™re just making things worse by mentioning the watch :joy:

I have a pair of these arriving tomorrow.

Iā€™ve been waiting for a sweat proof pair of AirPods for some time. Got on really really well with the original airpods but sent them back because people said they couldnā€™t hear me on the phone and they did lose connection on quite a few occasions which really annoyed me.

Looking forward to the new shorter stem and enhanced call quality

I blame all of you, but Waitrose now have mine waiting for pickup, once I finish work.

Iā€™m 100% putting this down to all of you, but mine are also on their way.

Iā€™ll be invoicing you soon.

Super excited though! :bananadance:

So I just went to the Apple store to pick mine up.

They had a test area in store - and the noise cancellation is really good. Busy store and the ANC blocked out all the background noise. Impressed

Looking forward to testing them on the tube and in noisy streets but expect good things.

Only warning though, make sure youā€™re on the latest iOS - 13.2

Itā€™s either because Iā€™m on the beta version or not the right version of 13.2 but I canā€™t pair with them until I update and the wifi in store isnā€™t doing the job well enough to update.

So check that first

That said from the 10 mins of playing in store the ANC seems good and the new controls seem a bit more reliable than the old.

After just over two years of #fullmonzo, I made my first withdrawal from my Coin Jar pot to pay for these - thanks Monzo!

Blown away by the noise cancellation on these little things. Iā€™d say the ANC is on par with my pair of Bose QC35s (Gen 1) in every situation except the tube, where itā€™s still plenty good enough.

Picked mine up on launch. Stunning. But hard to justify Ā£279 for earphones (with apple care)! They are really something though. The noise canceling is incredibly intelligent and so useful getting on to buses and bumping to people whilst listening to music.
