I made a purchase on an easyjet flight. But one of the purchases has declined. Easyjet are cont8nuing to try and take the money but declined every time. How do i allow this payment

I had an issue last year, I made a purchase with my card on the return flight back to the UK. I had a new card waiting for me when I got back home and activated it not thinking there would be a problem. I was wrong. Because the payments on flights are offline payments they don’t actually collect on them immediately so when they tried the card was already blocked and the transaction declined.
I spoke to both Monzo and easyJet. The easyJet assistant told me to make a complaint. The complaint handler didn’t actually understand the problem and sent an answer to me paying online for a flight. After more back and forth with them, in the end I gave up. Monzo couldn’t help since the old card was blocked as replaced.
easyJet kept trying to take the payment for around 6 months I think. But they don’t seem to have any kind of process in place to deal with these other than just trying the same payment over and over
I had the same feedback from easyjet to make a complaint. But when i checked Monzo before doing this, the payment had gone through it took almost a month of almost daily attempts for it to go through. So in the end i didnt do anything and payment completed.
