Adding funds to a Monzo joint account when you’re overdrawn

In short, I get paid on Wednesday but I’ve ended my (pay)month overdrawn. I arrange for a Tesco delivery the weekend before I get paid so that it arrives the day I get paid, and they take a £2 payment in advance of the delivery. I needed to transfer money from my sole account to our (empty) joint account to make the payment, but when I go to the “Move Money” screen in the app and go to enter in an amount I want to transfer the app automatically changes it to the amount I’m overdrawn by.

This really needs fixing — I’m having to transfer the money to my partner (whose account is basically empty), who then moves the money to our joint account, and it’s honestly just a faff!


Thanks for reporting that! That’s definitely something we need to look into.

You could use the sort code and account number for your joint account as a single bank transfer as a workaround also.
