Overdrawn in joint account?

Hi everyone,

Myself and my partner are looking to have a joint account for house type bills.

I have a Monzo account, he has never had a Monzo account.
He asked me this question, to which I had no answer.

If you have £1100 in a joint account but need to pay £1200 for something, does the account go overdrawn or will it try to draw money from the pots before that time?

Does anyone know the answer?

It won’t take it from pots. It will do the inverse though.

Whether it will allow the payment or not I’m unsure because there is no JA overdraft facility.

Thank you! So it might just bounce the payment if you can’t pay?

You might want to see if you can get a Joint Account first. Monzo are notoriously fickle when it comes to dishing them out.
