I’ve had quite a good experience with Zopa overall to be fair so might give them a go with my salary and see how i get on aith the view of perhaps making it my main account - direct debits have been working perfectly already
I admire your courage to be at the cutting edge of fintech!
Do you have to tell your employer (like a boss or HR person) when you change bank details or is it done automatically via self service?
Ryan is our canary. If an account works for him, the rest of us can fire on
Just self service through my employer but all employers would differ
I’m only recently at one where I can change it myself and it’s been tempting to chop and change where you don’t have to pester someone
Mine lets you pay into multiple separate accounts so I’ve changed a few times over the year.
I have to ask a human politely.
This would be great. I’m at a large employer but there is no mention of this.
When I signed up there was a drop down for things like “expenses” “bonus” but I’ve never seen it since on the full system.
Did enquire but they didn’t have a scooby.
I used to be in that boat. I still feel like I should be asking someone!
I’ve noticed Zopa now seems to have a developer portal for gaining access via open banking. At the moment seems to be limited to credit card but presumably will at some point also include current account. I don’t use Monzo connected accounts and not sure where to suggest new connections, but someone here might want to suggest this to Monzo…
Trying to use Barclaycard to pay off Zopa by balance transfer but it’s being rejected.
It’s frustrating they don’t have the standard setup, it’s as though Barclaycard checks the card number to see if it’s possible first, but just doesn’t move forward on the screen.
It does work fine any other cards I have.
My work around is a money transfer from another card, with a small fee, to pay off the balance and then balance transfer from Barclaycard to the other card, for another fee.
The two fees are still less than a few months interest on the Zopa.
Used Zopa out in Edinburgh last night and the merchant data really isn’t up to scratch - alot of them are really unrecognisable from their transaction names and some of the logos are way off. Quite blurry too for the ones that have displayed.
Okay you win
Still haven’t plucked up the courage to get my salary paid in yet!
I don’t see how that’s bad?
No merchant images. The names all look correct, albeit the rooftop bar having another merchant name for when ordering food.
I get that sort of thing sometimes with Monzo. Presumably to do with the way the payment systems are set up at the venue.
No I didn’t arrange for it to be paid in the end
