I’ve just sold some stuff on eBay and would like to withdraw the funds from Paypal worth thousands of pounds.
My question is, do I withdraw it to the current account or the debit card?
From the previous transactions, i tried to withdraw it to debit card and it went smoothly. Now, i tried the same way again but it says above the withdrawal limit. Hence, i confirmed my bank account.
And now i’m confused which one should i withdraw to?

One is your bank account and one is the Debit Mastercard linked to your bank account. There is no limit on the amount you can transfer to a Monzo bank account by bank transfer, so I’d use the bank account details.
Expect that there could be some delays (extra fraud checks etc) especially if it’s your first payment to your bank account for such a high value.
Thanks a lot for your advice. It’s really helpful. By the way, have you heard about ACH transfer? The Paypal staff also advised me to use that one.
‘ACH’ or Automated Clearing House transfers is an Americanism I believe that refers to BACS, CHAPS and Faster Payments in the UK. Essentially bank transfers.
PayPal say:
A transfer to a bank account typically completes in 1 business day, but it may take longer depending on your bank’s clearing process.

Do you think transfer directly to bank account is reliable enough? I am not sure of using the ACH thing and i just dont want to mess everything up.

I’ve used transfer to my Monzo account plenty of times with no issues, the 1st time though it flagged for some checks but otherwise the transfers were instant.
Maybe send a fiver first to test.
